  • took WAY too long to deploy the taser. shouldve popped him the very instant the perp tried to close the gap on the officer. come aggressive at me... nope... taser

  • Nothing wrong with this deployment... I am a little concerned for the officer's safety throughout the video though. He had very little distance between him and this idiot. The CEW should have been deployed long before it has been. The CEW has been introduced to reduce harm to both the officer and the suspect. Just because the suspect does not 'seem to be armed' doesn't mean he isn't. His beligerant and aggressive stance as well as ignoring the officer's request proves for a dangerous situation.

  • ROFL

  • Good job thought Deputy...

  • 30 minutes for back-up...Sounds about right when it comes to the Yuma Deputies....

  • Best cop ever!!!!!!!

  • That was one calm and professional cop. Maybe a little too calm though.

  • Wow. Pretty impressed on how the dep kept his cool

  • Why is it so funny when someone gets tasered?lmao

  • Very cool cop

  • drunk guy assaults cop. tazing justified. fuck all you fags that bad mouth cops for enforcing the laws you retards make by voting idiots into political offices.

  • Took too long to use the Taser. Earlier deployment was required.

  • Wow, I work in law enforcement, and i give the deputy so much credit for being that calm. I'm the same way when it comes to guys like that. KUDOS!!

  • ah such delicious screams

  • great cop, was very kind.

here in Russia we would have shot this guy !

  • That cop showed alot of restraint in his actions...and kept a cool head, there's no problem here.

  • The cop showed remarkable restraint and patience. A credit to his profession. Bravo!

  • one of the few good cops so it seems.

  • What a nice cop. Even after the guy cusses him and tells him he's gonna kick his ass the poor cop still tries to be nice to him. The fat guy is a dick with small penis issues that drive his anger. Poor little dicked guy...

  • Good cop. I like.

  • Where is this, "Yuma"? I am cracking up at the guy saying "Woop". "I'm gonna woop your a@@..." and "You try to woop me". LOLOLOLOL!!

  • That was funny

  • johnny cochran couldnt get you out of this stunt man

  • seemed really calm for a drunk guy walking at him...i woulda done it right there haha

  • That was intense!

  • sigh :)

  • Good Deputy, job well done. Not enough good law guys like this one. professional with public safety in mind.

  • that cop had alot of patience, i wouldnt have let some drunk dude chase me around like he did

  • That was well executed. He knew that he was very drunk so he tried to talk him down and refrained from using a weapon until he posed a real threat to the woman and himself. I'm sure the majority of cowardly cops would have just used the tazer from the start.

  • Actually he'd have been completely justified in popping him as soon as he started advancing on him. Whenever someone shows signs of being physically aggressive, you immediately put a stop to it. It turned out good in this incident but he waited too long in my opinion.

  • @CryptoDriver

the cop tazed him because the drunk asshole wanted to go back into the house to get a gun.

  • That officer deserves a commendation. In fact it would be interesting to know if the drunk jack ass tried to sue. Of course one look at the video and its game over.

  • I agree, he kept a calm anc collected manner.

  • The officer sounds like Patton Oswalt, on "King of Queens", when he talks! LOL!!!!

  • LOL u dont see it go down but u know exactly wats going on. thats probably the calmest cop Ive ever heard. from the sound of it a pretty cool cop indeed lol

  • Awesome work by the sheriff and the woman.

  • Exemplary police work. This officer was very gracious in delaying tazer deployment until his life was in imminent danger. The suspect had said "I am going to shoot you..."

  • You should hear the audio of this speeded up. The civilian's voice is hilarious!

  • nah they don't keep our kids from getting ran over. They just arrest the guys that run them over

  • bitch got owned

  • i would have done it sooner-hats off to the cop-great job!

  • I really am glad this officer is out there keeping us safe.

  • This is one hell of an officer. I can tell its from the south, but this cop thinks like hes from the north. So far in my training i can tell that i would have NEVER let a man, especially bigger than me chase. Its ask, tell, make. I would have used the taser or mase a little earlier. My life is important to me. Judos to the deputy!

  • AWESOME job with remaining professional, however, seriously....you should have tasered him before he was able to chase you around. I understand that you were trying to reason with him, but your safety is paramount, never forget that!

  • That is professionalism on the deputy's behalf

  • Man, good job on the deputy keeping a cool head and remaining calm.

  • youre a fuckin idiot you doosh bag.

  • doosh?

  • I would of shot his ass after he came at me the first time...

  • This is a great example of why we (police)should have one free kill a year. Stupid people won't act so stupid if they think they may be our free kill.

  • I'm no officer but I'd have to agree. It would definitely cut down on some of the stupidity out there.

  • i totally agree with you rush

  • What I like is that the deputy seemed genuinely upset about having to deploy the taser. The one time ive had to bring mine out I was really upset that I was about to use it, thankfully it didnt happen and I was able to talk the guy out of advancing towards us any further.

  • Notice the expletive @ .41

  • Yes. The out of control man's wife said "sh**" after he was tazed.

  • way to stay calm but that must have been a small town where they already knew eachother and he was a known drunk because the cop let him chase him around and had his arms crossed til he was in his face...not too safe it could have gone the other way really fast!

  • Comment removed

  • I hope I can stay as calm as this guy did. I just graduated from the academy and I hit the road in 2 days. I would have used the taser as soon as he came towards me and woulda damn sure used it when he advanced towards me saying he was going to shoot me. The taser has no lasting effect and is a very good alternative to fighting someone hand to hand where either you or the suspect is going to sustain lasting injuries or worse.

  • I would've used the tazer too, the first time someone that big came towards me. That guy looks like a gorilla in a sweat shirt and jeans! Best of luck in your new job, wavace. Be careful, and stay safe!

  • THank you , that means alot.

  • You're welcome, wavace. You mean a lot to a lot of us! Thank you, sir!

  • Yea I was impressed with how cool, mono tone and highly tolerable this guy was. I would have tazed him the second he came after me. The only reason some of say "the only good tazer ive seen on you tube" is becouse you have a problem with authority and get mad when you hear some one have to bark orders really loud.

  • first good use of a tazer ive seen in youtube lol

pretty correct cop, way to go 5/5

  • That right there was a perfect example of the situation police should use tasers. Well done officer.

  • Excellent cop! Wish they were all like that, far to many try to antagonise an already bad situation just so they can beat the crap out of someone (or murder) they feel insulted them instead of trying to calm things down like cop did. If all cops had this officers demeanor the public wouldn't have such a low opinion of the police. This cop should be held up as a shining example to all new recruits of how an officer of the law should interact with the public.

  • If every cop was this patient with the person before he tasered them.. I wouldn't complain at all. This cop was very cool about it.

  • 5/5 funny ''ahhhhhhhhh''

  • The officer gave him way to many warnings!

  • Justin, I think the deputy did the right thing. HE was patient and very respectful towards the civilian, while being subjected to the constant profane remarks. Apparently, this guy was abusing his wide, as you hear her say " I just want you to know what I've been puttin' up with".

  • @jf1gd2

your an idiot and a troll. he tazed the guy because the drunk asshole said he was going to shoot him and tried to run back inside to get a gun. go fuck yourself you useless, cop hating asshole.

  • jf1gd2: where's your head at judge dredd?

    lol

  • all these tasers do is let pussy little 120 lb cops fight like women

  • Wow, I think that cop should be fired for being TOO nice, that dude woulda dropped quick if i were on that taser

  • I'm not sure what's wrong with the deputy. He should have tazed the guy as soon as he made threatening gestures and attempted to chase him and fight him. It is there for the protection of both parties and this went on far too long.

  • That officer has some good patience, to much as far as I am concerned. He began to sacrifice to much of his personal safety before deciding to taser. Too few officers give a bad rap for the rest of them. Officers deserve our respect. Good job deputy. some say he shoudlnt have tasered, i guess they would rather see the officer kick the shit outta that guy to cuff him. He wouldnt have went down any other way. Then everyone would complain that the officer is using to much force.

  • That was awesome

  • It's obvious that the man has a drinking problem, and appears to be a redneck who wants to fight. All his talk about "whoopin" the officers blanking-blank. Note when he says "You try to 'whoop' me" at 1:19/20.

  • Now that's a nice cop. Few and far between.

  • dont want tased, dont break the law! dont want tased, keep your mouth shut. dont want tased, dont get stupid. its really that simple...

  • I think he shouldn't have used his Taser. A Taser is a less-lethal weapon, not a thing you should easily use and, after all, a weapon which could possibly kill somebody. The suspect does not seem to be armed, so a little JiuJitsu would do the job, causing less pain. Or is the US-Police not trained in Self-Defense techniques?

In general I support the use of Tasers, but I do not agree with the general opinion here.

  • We do not know how long this went on. The officer obviously gave the civilian more than enough time to stop what he was doing. The civilian was drunk, larger, and out of control, and, the words spoken by his spouse(or girlfriend) indicates that he did this on a regular basis, and something had to be done to put an end to it. Since the film is edited,we don't know what happened that forced the officer to finally tase the civilian. I, for one, believe the officer did the right thing.

  • From what I can tell the Deputy deployed the taser when the suspect attempted to run into the house and retrieve a weapon of some sort.

  • @tazerknowledge The officer is a really good one with a great deal of patience.

  • @audiophile55 I always enjoy morons who think they know case law and use of force issues like "fuesel" up there. You are correct, the officer did absolutely the right thing. Going "hands on" with a person who is threatening you is like gambling with a gun, because when the police are involved there is always at least one gun in the mix. Don't like the Taser? Don't resist.

  • @audiophile55 The fucking pig is a civilian, moron.

  • @Rooster1Cogburn Looks like the only "f*** pig" is yourself, "moron"! SHEESH!

  • c'mon he tried not to, but you the man said he was going to shoot the officer and then tried to go back into the house, Officers are to NEVER let them go back into their vehicle or their house, they could easily be going for a gun

  • Most Police agencies are trained in some hand to hand combat. But the entire point of the taser is not to have to get to the point of being physical with a suspect. In the US officer safety always takes precedence. This suspect was clearly running on "liquid courage" and this Deputy would of been in for a decent tussle. There is no doubt in my mind this Deputy did the right thing to protect himself and the suspect from injury or worse.

  • I hate to say this, but, LOL at 1:08/09.

  • Hear, here, 1992peter!!!

  • Man.

I think the officer, should have been commented on about his cool.

He stayed calm, and didn't raise his voice.

He tried to keep from tasing the suspect, but he knew what he had to do, and finally had to end up tasing the suspect. Man. I think people, would obey the law, more, if they knew, how much COPS do EVERY DAY. There are SO MANY Risks that cops face, DAY, AND NIGHt.

  • Oops. Sorry about that. I apologize, as I have never heard that term before, so wasn't sure what he said. Thanks for clarifying for me. I have to tell you, I hope that the deputy was commended for the way he handled the man. They should use this video for training purposes, because he never lost his cool, and gave the guy every opportunity to stop, before he had to do something to protect himself.

  • What does "dog-dip" mean?

  • This is perfect. Shows what type of people the sheriff's deputy's and police officers have to deal with, every day. That guy is out of control, and bigger than the sheriff, from the looks of it. Notice, the deputy never loses his cool, in spite of being called a profane name over and over, not to mention the guy calling him a "pig". I hope he didn't hurt his wife after he came down from his stinking, rotten drunk.

  • Great deputy. I love how he never loses his cool.

  • agreed

  • Was this taken from COPS?

    Or the training video?

  • This recording that she recorded, will get him charged with resisting arrest probably, because when the court sees this, they will see just how noncompliant he was with the officer.

Although, I would have tased him quicker than he did.

    LOL

    Good video.

  • So, she almost had to go to jail.

    She should have.

Of corse, that will help her in court.

  • I wouldn't of waited that long to taser his ass. He would of been down as soon as he walked toward me.
