I'm not saying Mark Warner is presidential material but John Edwards is finished politically. And that's too bad. In 2004, I was more impressed with John Edwards than I was with John Kerry. It scares me to think of the destruction of the Democratic party had we nominated Edwards. I wish Elizabeth Edwards the best. She is a nice woman.

I don't dislike John Edwards. But I cannot see him being able to be elected to anything. Right now, I'm concentrating on Barack Obama and nothing else. I'll worry about 2016 when 2016 comes around. One guy to watch out for is Deal Patrick, the governor of Massachusetts. His campaign was run by the same people who ran Obama's campaign. He's every bit as good an orator as Obama is, too. Another guy is Brian Schweitzer, the governor of Montana. And Jon Tester, a US Senator from Montana.

You may be on to something with Evan Bayh, though. Indiana went Democratic for the first time since 1964 and Bayh is extremely popular there. 2016 is a long way from today. Our next star may be somebody who doesn't currently hold any office. Obama's speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention is what propelled him to the national scene as an alternative to Hillary Clinton.

I like Bayh. Another guy to watch could be Mark Begich, who just got elected to the Senate in Alaska. The problem that a lot of Democrats are going to have come 2016 is that they waited too long. In 1992, nobody wanted to challenge George Bush because they thought he was unbeatable. Bill Clinton ran and beat him. By the time 2000 came around, Democrats who passed were too old, not just age but their politics.

Warner promised not to raise taxes and then ushered in the biggest tax increase in VA history (1.4 billion dollars). He also personally fought the VA marriage ammendment. He decried Homeschoolers, gun owners, pro-life conservatives, he is no moderate he is a liar and unfit for office of any kind.

Mark Warner took a state that was "in the red" and turned it into one of the best run states in the union with a republican congress(There was an award for this) he would have been my choice if he ran because he could have fixed the economy.
