  • Oil on the firing pin!!!!!!!

  • Way too much oil! I bet it's nasty to clean! You should try a non petroleum product like Ballistol.

  • @PresenceCreative I have some Pete @thearmorychannel sent me. It works great on my 1911.

  • @PresenceCreative Have you done a video on clean and lube of a hand gun. I would like to see how much oil you use? Thanks for your response in advance!

  • Liked the video but I feel you oil your Sig WAY too much. It's your gun and you can do whatever you want but, too much oil is just as bad as not enough. Just a little advice from someone whose been carrying pistols for over 30 years, (Sigs,Berettas,Rugers,Smiths, Colts,Glocks,etc.). Nice video though.

  • For some reason the Kimber Custom series are bad about getting surface rust and barrel rust. Not sure why that is.

  • @GuerillaGunfighter I found out that kimber does not use a stainless steel to make thier barrels! They also do a poor job at polishing the barrel. I will not buy another Kimber.

  • Use Mobile 1 very lightly. It soaks into the metal and the lubercation stays for months,

  • Most gun barrels are made from 416 stainless steel. Some use 4140 chrome moly which well rust. I have a 1994 SIG P220 which has a 4140 barrel.

  • I am sorry man, I can tell you really care for your guns, but you use way too much oil. I have to agree with WhiskeyTango, and from all the people I have talked to at gun shops they say the majority of malfunctions they see and the most common reason guns get sent back to the factory is OVER lubrication.

  • @TheGordianknotter I have been told this before as well! Even so, I still have not had a jam or malfunction on my sig! No matter how much oil I seem to use on my kimber 1911 barrel it still seems to rust?

  • Need more light. I got a SIG P229 Elite Stainless. I got the same Hogue grips as you too.

  • i do the same to my sigs. oil can be replaced lol

  • Sorry, one more thing, dont apply any oil to the extractor. As is the same with the firing pin safety plunger and firing pin hole it only allows dirt and gunk to build up faster and possibly cause malfunctions. The firing pin safety plunger, firing pin hole, and the extractor also do not need oil to function properly. They are not meant to be oiled.

    Just trying to help out.

  • Also, dont be worried about using to much grease. After greasing and reassembly, just rack the slide multiple times and any extra grease will come out the ends. Just wipe off the excess grease and your done.

  • Dont take this the wrong way, but you use way to much oil.

    A couple suggestions.

    1. Use a Silicone Cloth to treat the outside of the firearm instead of oil. Its easier, cleaner, and lasts just as long.

    2. Dont put any oil around the firing pin safety plunger or the firing pin hole. This only allows dirt and gunk to build up in those areas faster and increase the possibility of malfunctions. These areas do not need any lubrication to function properly.

  • Remoil is good stuff!!
