  • Colbert uses a very high level of intellectual sarcasm to the point where he may seem rhetoric and nonsensical by people who don't get it.

  • If the government imposes a certain wage on these jobs, as opposed to free market offerings, it will make the American food industry uncompetitive.

If the government makes it difficult for foreign workers to come in legally in order to preserve these jobs for native Americans, of which they themselves are reluctant to take, then the working conditions for the foreign farmers deteriorates.

Therefore the correct solution would be to make it easier for them to come in LEGALLY.

  • Colbert did told the truth as he meant it, only in a sarcastic tone. He said:

    1) The Department of Immigration should make it easier for foreign seasonal migrants field workers to come in easily:

    2) This will thus improve the working conditions of such person, and will make them less likely to be exploited. This in turn encourages native Americans to work in such jobs because they now see that their co-workers are less likely to be exploited.

Everything else he said was sarcasm intended to prod

  • I think he drives at a deeper point. Congress really is a joke. Yes his analogies don't follow, but at least he is passionate about the inefficiency of congress

  • Is the jury really still out on whether Fox News is biased or not?

  • Judge Napolitano was absolutely right they are wasting our tax payer dollars on this shit

  • I hate to say it. I'm with the Judge on this one. I thought the Clips you played of Colbert were Funny as well. I understand Satire, and Humour. His Issue is Clearly with. Congress is being paid by tax payers money to have basically a Private Showing From a Television Character. I see what your saying about, he's not trying to deceive. Either way I don't think this is Example of Fox News Bias. The Judge is one of the better guys on Fox.

  • Judge is in favor of Ron Paul, so that makes him RIGHT.

  • @givemearandomnamenow The Judge's Show called Freedom Watch is Being Replaced by a show called Money and Power. That Just about say's it all. Don't Support Ron Paul or you'll be taken off the Air.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually Liberalviewer, the judge is completely correct, mostly because when he made that statement he had information that you probably didnt whilst making yours. Congress invited colbert to testify in character. They knew perfectly well he was going to be in character and still had him testify, which makes them to blame for any 'mockery' they recieved.

Thats what the judge wasn't happy about, the fact that the congress intentionally had somebody make a fool of them and the system.

  • @BboySmokey Did you watch the video? How can the judge be completely correct when he said that Colbert should be indicted for lying under oath?

  • @weejockpoopongmcplop Yes, what Colbert did was not perjury, but Napolitanos broader point is completely fair, unless you are a brainwashed partisan hack. Colbert provided FRIVOLOUS testimony and that may well be punishable in itself.

For instance, pull out the instructions for your 1040 form. You will see that the IRS imposes $500 penalty for anyone who files a frivolous return. Its not perjury, but still prosecutable.

  • @Mrparrot73 The broader point may well be completely FAIR but that still doesn't make him completely CORRECT if he's wrong on some of the specifics...unless you are a brainwashed partisan hack.

Since I'm not, I am able to admit that while he may have been wrong about indicting Colbert for perjury, for the reasons pointed out in this video, it was still an inappropriate gimmick and they shouldn't have done it. Shouldn't have invited Elmo either; that was just as bad.

  • Yes

  • if your telling someone your lying, then it's not a lie technically they know what you say is gonna be BS

  • The sad thing is that if they looked at the truth of his statements, he was bringing light to the plight, in a way that was farcical. The farce was started by the people who claim to be ignorant to life that is lead by these people, therefore to not continue in the same genre would truly be insulting to congress.

  • Ron Paul 2012

  • RON PAUL PREZ 2012~~!!! STEPHEN COLBERT FOR HIS VICE =D great team!

  • NAPOLITANO who the fk tells the truth i know ERICK HOLDER HUH OR BERNANKE OR GEITHNER right,

  • someone not telling the truth in congress... stop the presses....

  • honestly I don't think Stephen Colbert lied about Roger Clemens urine... just saying.

  • Ron Paul 2012... One of the best decisions that we can make.

  • I think the voiceover guy would make a great hypnotist.

  • I find it funny that they have to testify in character. the Elmo thing was escpescially outragus

  • Is this guy STILL calling Colbert a conservative?

  • I agree with Napolitano saying that Colbert appearing before Congress was a waste of time and money, but I agree with you saying that Napolitano overreached by saying what Colbert did was tantamount to lying to Congress. However, I don't think this was a case of FOX News' bias, I think this was a case of the Judge's gross exaggeration.

  • this video owns.

  • Comment removed

  • I have to agree that testifying in front of Congress should NOT be done for entertainment purposes. There is a time and a place for such entertainment--and in front of Congress isn't it! It minimizes and mocks the very essence of Congress. And, let's face it folks--Congressmen do THAT already enough as it is!

  • Comment removed

  • I love how the emotionless voiceover draws me into the video.

  • there is no truth in opinion stupid judge

  • Oh and they should watch Carlin on the oath

  • Why does it matter if a comedian testifies in Congress? We've already been laughing at Congress for years.

  • @NiHuWi That's the best solution I've heard in a long time...maybe even ever.

  • @NiHuWi lol :) Yes!

  • Elmo testified to Congress? Did not know that.

    Wow...........

  • "Face-palm"

    A Puppet, Really?

  • today's republican party is overrun with tea party fags. sadly that is the republican party today. they love to lie and try to deceive the people themselves.

  • Fox news is not news, its entertainment just like Stephen Colbert on the Colbert

  • Oath is bullshit anyway. Sure, now I will say the truth. I killed 2 cockroaches and a mice. Now put me in jail for murder. I beg you. I just love jail so much that I will say "nothing but the truth". Ooopppss my finger were crossed. Such a stupid analogy.

  • Almost every member of congress knowingly and willfully attempts do decieve congress every time they give a speech.

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... Colbert made an Asses out of both sides of congress! The judge is just pissed because of that. If colbert had just gone after the dems he would have had no problem. Both sides suck.

  • this video is idiotic. Why don't you focus on the main point that Judge Napolitano is making? Namely, Congress is lazy, incompetent, wastes taxpayer money, and needs serious reform. Can you really disagree with that? Napolitano did not say that Colbert committed a crime. He even said that he has nothing against what Colbert did. He simply expressed his objection to congress wasting time with entertaining such a guest. This is not bias, this is just an opinion being discusse.

  • 100% bias

  • Fox sleeps, eats, swims, and bathes in BIAS

  • I think most people realize that Fox is right leaning, just like MSNBC is left leaning. Who cares whether Fox claims to be balanced, just don't watch them!

  • So Judge Napolitano isn't pushing for prosecution... hes mad about waist in time and tax payer money.... Next time I'm in court I'll put on my alter ego and see how that goes.

  • Andrew Napolitano needs a spanking from the Colbert Nation.

  • i am outraged, how did some one get the ear of congress with out spending a fortune in lobbyist to do so?!!! This is completely un-big money and anti-republican.!

  • Who ever you are that makes these videos I love your stuff! He was deceitful in his interview by not giving all the facts.

  • @sarainreno30 Welcome to the news!!! When does the media ever give all the facts??

  • WHY IS SOMEONE WHO CALLS THEM SELF LIBERAL VIEWER BITCHING ABOUT BIAS?

  • @CRAZYASFUK1 he is bitching about bias because fox news claims to be balanced-showing both sides of the spectrum but everyone with a functioning brain can see that they are at best moderately leaning republicans and bat-shit crazy with the o'reilly factor and glenn beck/sean hannity/et cetera at the worst.

  • fox news, the anus of the news media.

  • Choose you're own comment!

Fucking (liberals/republicans), they're such hypocrites! They keep going on about how bias (nbc/fox) is without realising that (fox/nbc) is just as bad, if not worse. Honest I can't wait until (obama is re-elected/a republican kicks obama out) that way they can fix the country and I their noses in it.

  • @bersaba FUCK YEAH, if this comment was intended to make a point then i laughed my ass off.

  • @bersaba You simply cannot put anything on Fox's level. Nobody puts such a ridiculous spin on everything that opposes their ideology. Why not provide an example of your counter argument? And looking at the currently available republican candidates, if any of them got through the election, the USA would be doomed.

  • @bersaba I missed the "obama is re-elected" part. Anyway, I don't think I have. My point was that no other major 'news outlet' (almost none of which i share respect for) in America can be compared to Fox in terms of party bias. I asked you for examples of bias in the broadcasts of outlets you deem to be of equal level. S'all.

  • @Bleumange I guess thats what is so refreshing about roemer. now do i like the idea of drilling in america. hell no. but if drilling is being done anyways and its either here or over seas. might as well be here and keep the money circulating here. and make jobs. Once we first take care of the issue of getting someone not taking 100's of 1000s of dollars from banks....we can then move to reform on those other issues. as long as politicians are bought and sold, any reform done would be a joke.

  • @Bleumange but if roemer doesn't get out after the New Hampshire primary hes not going to go on and then I will go ahead and vote for Paul. Ending the federal reserve.... now thats one of the best ideas anyone has ever had. At least we would be able to vote for who prints our money. not a private(fed res) bank. thats just me though... I just wish I didn't see paul taking money from special interests as well. but then again maybe he would be just as unknown as roemer then. hahaha.

  • @Bleumange

My comment wasn't about Fox or CNN, it was about youtube comments, and how they all tend to fit a certain format. I wasn't making a statement to the accuracy of those comments, just the repeated nature of those comments.

  • @Bleumange not true. im 100% independent because i like to keep an open-mind. look that word up. get rid of these generalizations. either party sucks but look at individuals. how deep has your research gone on every person running including obama. I used to support obama until he decided not to do a single thing he said he would do. you need to look at independent media. the current president is so close to the federal reserve and Wall street id be surprised if our government could get out.

  • Comment removed

  • @Bleumange the course we are on currently has already doomed us and this goes back so far since the federal reserve has gotten its complete freedom. so somewhere we need people not getting mixed up with these bankers and corporate yahoos. so look up roemer. and then look up a bit about the federal reserve. and then about bilderberg. how about an extended war to secure fossil fuels. I want to make sure you are aware of these items before continuing support of the current regime.

  • @Bleumange dont get me wrong. most of the GOP candidates are ridiculous. i agree, but they arnt all. just look at the two canidates that many rights are dismissing. and why are they dismissing them???? Look up Roemer and look at Paul.

  • @abukovec20 I'll do some research on Roemer. However, just because Paul is mostly ignored by the right wing itself, doesn't mean that the few of his views I agree with make him a better candidate when considering his entire manifesto, at least on social issues.

  • @Bleumange that is true. you absolutely have your right to have a view on how government should be run. I really respect that. To be honest I really cant say I support a 2 party system. And the funny thing is, I am independent but typically a lot of items i lean to the left. Its just that currently before any progress is made in any of those other areas like clean energy, better food industry, education, immigration, etc... all important but not nearly as important as getting rid of corruption.

  • @bersaba

tbf I don't think there've been any studies which show Fox viewers to be more informed than NBC viewers. so the equivocation isn't all that useful.

  • @gamerunknown

And once again, I'll explain my comment. I wasn't casting an opinion on the accuracy or belief that NBC or Fox is bias. I have my own personal opinions, but that wasn't what my comment was addressing.

I was making a parody comment on how most comments on youtube when dealing with Fox or NBC and so on tend to be "Fox is so bias, unlike NBC" or vice versa.

  • @bersaba: it's funny that every media sector across the country (despite being owned by Zionists) has no importance of reporting than to drivel on about the Congress when 95% of the time it's literally non-existent in terms of criticism of policies and a certain agenda is to be proposed when in reality it never runs through whatsoever.

  • @bersaba I'm sure this comment is going to go viral if it hasn't already

  • shut up ya faggy liberal.

  • @M3GTR Larry Craig is that you? If so do you still have a 'WIDE STANCE'?

  • gurl waz walkin 2 skwool with her bf n they wer crossin the rode.(Dis is sadbtw mak u cry.)

she sed "will u luv me 4evr?" he said "NO..."

da gurl cryd n ran across da rode be4 da green man came on the sign.

she got hit by a car.

da boi waz cryin and went to da body.

    she waz ded.

    he whisperd 2 da corpse..

"i meant 2 say ill luv u FIVE-ever...."(dat meaned he luved her MOAR then 4ever..)

thums up if this made u cry :(

  • @yomommaisme7 Thats why you look b4 you cross the street.

  • Haha!

    Birdman get in here!

  • I Have not watched fox news, or the fox network in over 6 years.

Just stop watching fox. Seriously. Dont over think it. Do not watch

    and they will go away.

  • Xsublymomalx, ur right he really didn't lie about anything. I am a proud conservative republican, and I realize that u need to pick ur battles, and Fox news has to learn not to take things like this too seriously. I personally think that Colbert is the funniest comedian, I don't care that he's making fun of us

  • I'm still not understanding what he lied about. lol. Faux News at it again.

  • @UncleArty1

“I know you have been critically looking at the mores and customs of the past and questioning their value. Every generation does that. But don't discard the time-tested values upon which civilization has been built just because they are old.” Ronald Reagan

  • lol how could tha that guy in glasses in the background not crack asmile when Colbert said his great grandfather didn't come to america to see it overrun by immigrants he did it because he killed a man in Ireland? Who are these people?

  • Comment removed

  • yes

  • the only problem with the liberal view, is the same problem with the conservative view it's unconstitutional. most of our problems today directly result from trying to find common ground between two outdated and unconstitutional philosophies.

  • Great job with this peice. im now a subscriber of yours. it makes me wish i had the balls to do the same. btw 'judge' napolitano (i know he's really a judge but sometimes i wounder...) is all over the place. one day left the other right never center and whomever he's cozying up too and laughing with, he tries to appease them. again good job, keep it up you highly intellectual liberal guru you!

  • you spent too much time on this stupid video. both elmo and colbert shamed and made a mockery of the whole system, the system that just so happens to be a shameful mockery of you and i. colbert knew what he was doing up there. he makes a mockery of everything, and rightly so. you putting time and effort into debunking something like this only provides more evidence of a rotting society. that, and you're a liberal. the only thing worse than a republican, and you're it. i'm sure someone is proud.

  • the judge does bring up a very good point

  • How the hell was that room not cracking up when Colbert was talking? Not a single damn smile.

  • @USPSAman: don't you mean "Faux News"? ;)

  • I doubt he's looking to put Colbert on trial and I feel like thats as obvious as Colbert's satire. He's just saying congress should stop wasting time and money on fairly frivolous things like this during a recession.

  • While Colbert may not have meant to deceive, I would remind Liberal viewer that Fox News once sued Fox entertainment because they worried a segment of the simpsons might be confused for an actual news segment. And many conservatives don't realize Colbert is pretending to be conservative.

Those are the people who elected many of those guys in congress.

It's possible Colbert was deceptive since so there are so many who can't tell what the truth is.

  • Congress is expensive. Elmo shouldn't take their time, and neither should Colbert.

Was it funny? Yes. It's not the venue for comedy.

  • Elmo testifying in Congress? Seriously? This is happening when the US War Machine is committing acts of terrorism around the world, people are starving around the world (including the USA), and people are losing their houses. OH wait - I get it now, Congress needs Sesame Street to explain to them the issues that matter.

  • I do agree, he should not be talking in congress "in character" under oath, however, once again - Fox News crosses the line way to far.

  • FOX NEWS SUCKS

  • Elmo went before Congress? Hahahaha I need to look this up if it's really true.

  • LOLOLOL Elmo testified to congress? If congress is willing to allow them to testify in character as a joke, that's their problem. Fox shouldn't be the one to point fingers. It does seem like a stretch to let elmo do it, but hey it's congress. They went in there with the knowledge that there would be jokes, and that is what they got.

    .\ /. _

  • Fox is right again .

  • ...a fake news organization; it is very blatant. So blatant that critically you think it is intentional. I sure do. I tune into alternative media; not the status quo media who are all owned by a few very wealthy individuals who want to stay wealthy and keep most of us uninformed about the true problems with this country.

Also I am voting for Ron Paul for 2012 because I believe he is our last hope for a better country. Otherwise we are heading backwards and soon America will be Rome and collaps

  • This is stupid. America is in a tremendous amount of debt, we are starting a war with Libya with no congressional declaration while being in wars with most of the middle east, our president has the ability to assassinate anybody including americans and can torture people and keep them in prisons indefinitely without due process, we just bailed out Greece where over 90% of the Greece's problem was caused by the rich and we bail them out, and here we are scrutinizing this? Fox is...

  • I love the fake outrage over Colbert.

He actually - in character - brought forward some very valid points through humour.

But where is the fake outrage?

Well, when you consider that the GOP brought writer of fiction Michael Crichton before congress to testify for their own agenda against global warming... hmmm..

    Or even better - ELMO!

They called a fucking PUPPET to a hearing!

The usual double standard from the GOP!

  • @auritone Indict that little son of a bitch! He's RED! He's a SOCIALIST!

  • Also... why would you invite Colbert and tell him to leave. What did they expect him to do? He's a comedian.....

  • He was clearly displaying traits commonly associated with 'acting', and clearly shows contempt for the seriousness of the situation. He is a 3 year old trapped in a body of a grown pig of a man. Who does he think he is? Robin Williams back in the 80's, but a lot less funny, charming, and intelligent? Truly disgusting...

  • @maggnolia It must be awful to be as close minded as you..... sad day.

  • If I acted like that in a situation that (clearly?) demands an ethical and forthright manner to be maintained, I would not expect to be taken seriously, sincerely, or rationally, and would expect nothing but to be considered as insulting the standards and practices of the legal system.

  • Congress is a tough crowd.

  • So a bunch of overpaid athletes on roid's important! A satirist bringing attention to an important issue in this country ...not.....important?!

  • So apparently Napolitano is Colbert's 'friend', but is baselessly accusing him of perjury.

  • I saw stephen colbert clicked... had no idea I'd be bored to death by the ramblings of an evangelical liberal

  • @wilsonwilson423 lol, you do know what evangelical means right? he hasnt done anything to lead anybody to believe he is religious, it looks like you really like to use big words, too bad you arent smart enough to know what they are.

  • @wilsonwilson423 Even if evangelical was the word you were honestly trying to use, how in the hell would it be relevant in any way to ANYTHING?

  • What do you mean Colbert lied????

Stephen Colbert tells the " TRUTHINESS "

  • It didn't take a genius to figure out this guy was full of shit, why bother with so much analysis?

  • he had no intention to deceive, thats right;

but that doesnt grant him the right to publicly waste money and time.

  • @bcpicasa "waste money" all they'll do is print more up and add it to the trillion dollar debt lol can't waste what isn't real.

  • @xMCxHaVok Wait, if you print more money then the value will go down right? Since you'll be making more of it....

  • @thesonicman24 Correct thats called inflation but I was referring to the fact that money is based on nothing now :/

  • @xMCxHaVok Ohhhh, alright, got it. :D

  • Funny, I thought Congress is always in character. :)

  • No comment, this is just another waste of time. The focus of the nations is too burdened with issues like this. We are never going to get through this pile of garbage, but then again, is that not the idea? hmmm

  • I think the most notable part is not what they didn't say about Colbert's character, but the fact that they are wasting their time inflaming the report about an event rather than going with the obvious report that congress shouldn't have had him testify at all. To take it further at all and imply Colbert should be prosecuted is the same "take 'em to jail!" answer conservatives give about anything they don't like.

  • @jshowa2 Logic is the enemy of truth, sir. I accept your apology.

  • how are the people in the back not cracking up? this is hilarious!!!

  • So by your definition the real LIAR, in the Valerie Plame case against Scooter Libby should have been Patrick Fitzgerald, who KNEW who really initially divulged her identity. BUT, the only reason HE NOR the REAL culprit, Richard Lee Armitage, was not tried for CONCEALMENT was they were not the defendants.

Also for all u Libtards out there Scooter Libby was NEVER even charged with revealing her identity. And so why was Armitage never charged with divulging the info to Robert Novack?!?!

  • Lol pretending to be someone else. What a fucking moron. Hes a funny and smart man. He knows his shit. If Stephen Colbert was dressed like a clown he could sit in front of a politician and rip them a new asshole

  • bias.

  • Lying to congress is a crime? Don't see Bush or Cheney in jail...

  • @DrinkSkateSleep Republicans don't differentiate between sarcasm and misinformation.

  • @DrinkSkateSleep Yeah, but they were serious...plus Elmo proved they don't prosecute puppets.

  • @jshowa2 You spelled Stephen AND waste wrong... Can we really take your comment seriously after a foul up like that? I vote no.

  • @jshowa2 One of the problem I see Colbert testifying in character was that I wasn't sure what his point was. If any one testify in character, they should at least let the court know what point he is trying to make.

  • Go elmo!

  • Nope you are wrong on this one, judge is right. Colbert's intent can easily be categorized as misleading by a jury

  • @H1TMANactual

Are you actually saying that you believied, or think that 12 jurors would believe, that he was being serious?

The fact is that because it was blatantly untrue and designed to be basically untrue that nobody was mislead.

  • @goonerh1 Hmm if it was designed to be basically untrue then what was the need for his testimony?

  • @H1TMANactual that is like saying sarcasm is akin to lying.

I, like most others, would understand the meaning behind the words and not just take the words at face value. If you take words at face value without applying the proper social context, nearly anything can be misconstrued.

the intent of colberts speech was obviously not to mislead the jury, although he may have done so accidentally if any of the jury were retarded.

  • @isays Notice your shift from defending the meaning of words, to intent. Colbert offered nothing of value, it was an absolute waste of time. I don't pay Congress to hear jokes. If anything Colbert's intent was self-promotion and plugging his show. You have no argument here

  • @H1TMANactual while there was little value in what he said, he brought media attention to a subject which he though important. The little value that was in his words was spent in pointing out the follies of his opponents ideals when taken to the extreme by means of satire.

it doesn't look like he has done anything criminal, because he did not have intent to mislead. At worst, he just wasted a little time and money.

but this is youtube... neither of us have valid argument.

  • It was not bias for Napolitano say what he thought was true, was true. Especially if he actually believed it.

--> THIS IS BECAUSE 'JUDGE' NAPOLITANO HAS ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA THAT HE IS INCORRECT. <--

He is not being biased in these (or any other) clips. HE IS BEING INCOMPETENT!!!

  • Wasting the time of Congress? What about all those pesky lobbyists?

  • I think all fox news is bias. But I think all of the news I watch is bias. If you don't think the people, that tell you what's going on in the world, don't tell it to you with their own spin on the entire situation. Than you are crazy. All of this bullshit news they try to feed us, it's all gossip, NOT news. And like all gossip, it's really just one giant smear campaign.

  • I would rather have someone tell the truth in character than lie as a real person.

  • check out FOX NEWS THE AMERICAN TERRORISTS song and video words and mnusic Ken Dixon

  • @nbenton92 You are scum.

  • Another thing is if they did decide to prosecute Colbert and bought him to court or another hearing he would just go again in Stephen Colbert character.

  • I don't entirely understand what everyone's talking about taxpayer dollars for. Colbert walked in, was the focus of maybe 10-15 minutes of conversation, then that was the end of it. If I'm wrong, correct me, but what taxpayer dollars were wasted?

  • Oh the US all it means is that we are so hopelessly down the drain we are bringing in jesters as advisors of public policy. This all just makes me sick.

  • So a comedian and satirist lied to a bunch of liars? Shouldn't that cancel out each other somehow, therefore causing a rift in the space-time continuum.?

  • @SUSMCR13411 LOL

  • @SUSMCR13411 No, that only happens when you divide by zero. ;)

  • I like the videos in this channel, but the questions in the titles of this channel seem kinda rhetorical...

  • I tried to go to the video and was told it was private.

  • @Boy75402

    The FOX segment video*

  • Step 1- Show us the clip.

Step 2- Give us your opinion (so we can leave if we don't care).

  • Please stop using the word "misinform." It is incorrect. The word that should be used is "disinform."

  • Way to spend nearly 5 minutes refuting something that Andrew Napolitano never said.

  • how do you respect a whore house like the American congress?
