  • You shift like a woman

  • You shift like a woman

  • I owned a 65 Goat in 1968 when I was a kid, the 65 GTO is truly an all American muscle car (still my favorite)

  • Heh...love that sound.

I have heard it a few times.

It is the sound of an SS Chevelle or a Camaro or a 429 Mustang or a Cuda entering your rear view mirror.

I had a '67 GTO back in the day and they were quick and fun as hell to drive.

Only the real hard core racers were any competition.

LS3 Z-28s and L-88 Vettes were quicker but none of the Mopar crap could touch it.

I could have made a good living betting Mopar guys $20.00 on the 1/8 mile.

  • At the end of that burst,I was closing fast on a guy on a harley, and didn't want to freak him out. I never got out of third. There are fewer places to let it run around here without traffic, so I get limited opportunities to open it up.

  • Glad to see videos of a Goat being driven the way they're mean to be. Tired of all the vids of guys just puttin' around town. I cant resist jumping on it in mine even during a quick run to the store. Nothing sounds as terrifying as a Pontiac opened up. It's a sound that screams to everyone within ear shot; "You just lost"

  • 400 HO

  • Now that's American muscle!

  • great video, ...makes me realize I need to make my 67 a 4 speed ... or 5 speed :-)

  • What motor?

  • @SimulationCharacter1 in that? You're talking maybe a 350 or 400 cubic engine. It could be even more. Those are the V8s of the old days.

  • @Americanmuscle1968 My fathers has a 400. Sadly it is a 3 speed with an Overdrive.

  • @SimulationCharacter1 Does it matter though? Despite it's a 3 speed I'd ride in it anyday.

  • @Americanmuscle1968 Oh it's a beautiful car, its on my channel. But we all wish it were a 4 speed.

  • @SimulationCharacter1 I just got done checking her out. She is a really beautiful restored car! Hold on to that legend!

Was I right? Is it restored, or is that the original paint just well kept maintained?

  • @Americanmuscle1968 Restored. Original color was Tyrol Blue, but we repainted it to that cherry red because the blue was dinged and knicked. The car is in the shop getting a brand new white vinyl roof because the one in the video suffered rust underneath and needed to be pulled. The car has the original '67 400 Pontiac motor, but with 76 Firebird heads.

  • @SimulationCharacter1 Very cool! :) Keep that baby restored.

  • @Americanmuscle1968 She needs the AC and the radio reconnected and then she'll be done!

  • @SimulationCharacter1 Oh, that's simple stuff. :) That won't take long at all.

  • Only had the car a little while then. I had the carb rebuilt and did some timing work since then, and it runs way better. I have a bit more practice shifting now too. Guess I should post a new video.

  • Alittle slow on your shifts boy
