Tremendous match. It's a shame neither WWE nor TNA have the inclination to bring us matches like this nowadays.  It was one of the major reasons why serious wrestling fans preferred WCW to the WWF for several years.

@xena224 Hokuto had a great program with Madusa in WCW in late 1996 and into 1997. You'll find some of those matches on youtube with a quick search, and they're great.

Wow, I remember watching this match when it aired. I was 16 and this absolutely blew me away. I wrote down Akira Hokuto's name and tried to find out more about her. I was blown away not just by her wrestling skill but her awesome entrance attire and character. WCW had some problems, but they were always great about bringing in international talent.

Joshi Puroresu. Translation, Japanese for womens wrestling..Mid nineties Joshi was the best wrestling ever produced.

So what do you have against Bull Nakano who was among the best ever? She was big but also thick, sexy and as Bobby the brain said, attractive in an Oriental kind of way. Akira was at one time head of a Nakano fan club. But yes Akira was fantastic; but honestly I think Jaguar Yokota and Manami Toyota were the best.

Yes; interestingly, although she debuted two years after Nakano, she is about 6 months older. Hard to believe that in the golden age of joshi, so many fans were young school girls who became ardent fans of this harsh sport and Akira was one of them. By the way, I have been trying to reach our friend Roy but he has been off channel for a few days. I have a picture of the famous luchadora Cynthia Moreno doing a flying cross body press on Bull which I wll send to you.
