  • @hotplate85 I love Babbitt as well...I'd be bitter if I'd spent as long in academia as he has done, having to deal with the countless misunderstandings and what have you... Carter quit teaching a long time ago but he was definitely just as bitter, I think.

  • You know, the 'melodic contour' of that first passage Rosen plays *makes sense* to me. It's lyrically comprehensible, and would have a distinctly different, emotionally different, character if some pitches were different. **
