  • now i know where gary barlow gets his sound from !!!!......interesting

  • this man is missed

  • Dedicated to Olivia, three years past and re-united with our baby in Heaven on August 10th.Sweetheart,I am working down your list! I have now read 'Bittersweet' and never felt such empathy.Sams had a tough year, final turned corners. We both returned to the lakes, went to all your special places. Finally, when all is quiet or night I listen to CTW,sometimes I almost can still feel you here. As CTW sang, I miss you,I really do.

    Eternally loved, never forgotten

    James and Sam xx

  • @jamesandsam1 Not forgotten James and Sam...so pleased to hear from you .

  • Beautiful song, thanks for posting it, though the version in the Waves album, with that piano, is better.

  • This is from the 'Waves' album... a beautiful song for a beautiful person... Kathryn ! x

  • love every line of this song!

  • I feel I've known heaven and hell here on earth but always the Clifford T Ward moments (countless) were and are heavenly. Thank you Cliff for the friendship and for the love. When we meet again I will share your coathanger and I am always hung on you. x

  • It's been two years since you went away.

But in our hearts you will always stay.

Remembering [Blessingsdreamer] on this sad day, re-united with our baby son.

I thought staying away would ease the pain but CTWard brings me closer to you. Sam remembers the special time you shared in your final months, I never really noticed but with Sam's help, you're never far away. He's grown, you would be so proud.

We really miss you sweetheart Love James and Sam. xx

  • @jamesandsam1 James, Cliffords song can bring both joy and pain but his music never fails to help a broken heart...I hope his music brings you some help.

  • I had lots of his albums on vinyl

A great singer songwriter who is sorely missed

Hope you enjoy singing these songs in heaven

    R.I.P.

  • Keep Clifford with you on your journey thru' life.

  • i got a demo 45 of clifford when no one had heard of him . then all the way thru my work with other record labels he was respected by all i worked with . when i learnt of his death , i was in a bar in nottingham , i cried in front of everyone , but was not ashamed .

  • @crewdsteve I also remember hearing of Cliff''s passing but fortunately I was at homel. Still, I too cried. Who wouldn't ? Such a loss. Thankfully we have his music still with us. What a wealth to dip into whenever. Fell for him completely age thirteen when I heard the Pilgrim. "Oh beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear, so shows a snowy dove trooping with crows, as yonder "Clifford" o'er his fellows shows.

  • Such another georgeous georgeouis song from Clifford T. Ward.

    Amazing guy.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Hugely enjoyable recording artiste. I regret that i could not enjoy his talent in the live concert arena. Apart from a 20 minute slot at the Festival Hall in London (supporting Twiggy) and a 3 song role at the Castlebar Festival in Ireland he did not do "live work". Such a shame as his repotoire of songs was immense. Sadly missed.

  • @imabelieverincliff Wasn't there some link beterrn Justin Villeneuve who was linked to Twiggy and Clifford T Ward? I seem to remember that Villeneuve was connected to the management of CTW and that Cliff felt let down by him. Just my interpretation. I remember having tickets to see Cliff in Dublin in the early eighties and him not turning up. He looked decidedly uncomfortable at Castlebar and so I don't think he liked public appearances but this did affect hiscommercial success.

  • @obriensheila The Clifford T Ward story (BITTERSWEET by Dave Cartwright) confirms your interpretation Sheila. Nonetheless we all love Cliff. Simply Unforgettable. My wish is that the younger generations can discover and appreciate him also.

  • @MrSteveOneal My adult children complain that they were a captive audience to CTW (and others) in the car and home when they were growing up, however when my Julia and other stories cd went missing I wasn't surprised to hear it being played in her room. We moved in to this house in 1978 as newly-weds and the songs of CTW have played over all those years so history sure is repeating itself. What can I say? The cream always rises to the top.

  • A beautiful song. Id like to think CTW had a good life. Thanks

  • What a wonderful song! It is not about death, neither is it a song for the brokenhearted. It is a song extolling the virtues of life and living in a warm loving environment with a special partner! A masterpiece .... thank you clifford t ward

  • I haven't listened to this for four months.

Darling, this will always remain your very special song.I miss you so much and I hope that you have met 'Your Hero'.Life goes on here but it will never be the same until we meet again.

    Forever James x

  • Simply beautiful, Clifford T Ward, there will never be a finer singer/songwriter than him. So sadly missed.

    G

  • Many thanks and delighetd you enjoyed so much ... keep browsing and enjoying .... sentimentality is brilliant!!! Peace.

  • just beautiful!

  • A classic by the "one and only" clifford t ward. It is heaven itself!

  • Dedicated to my darling wife {blessingdreamer] who sadly lost her battle on August 10th.

    Re-united with our baby son.

Sweetheart, I love and miss you so much, my heart will never mend.

    Till we meet again.

  • Stay strong my friend, nothing can ever take away the memories of your life together.. never feel alone because there are people who care, even those you have never met.

    You will meet again..

  • This song emerged on the waves album in 1976. An obscure track that rightly gained prominence with its inclusion at Clifford T Ward's funeral. Cliff had an excellent singer-songwriting talent but his refusal to perform live in concert meant that many of his songs did not get exposed to a wider audience. If only ....... great song though and Cliff was a master craftsmen in the recording studio! He hated the showbusiness side of his industry ... not for him alas!

  • see u there mate sing with you

  • I have been watching this for a few weeks now.

I must say that this is so fitting for this song by CTW, thank you for posting it.

I've re-discovered all these heart felt songs again, after all these years.

CTW had the most amazing talent and sadly taken well before his time.

What a perfect piece of music to be played at his final journey along with Home Thoughts From Aboard, how meaningful must that have been.

Thank you once again for posting it.

  • Heaven is listening to Clifford T Ward's outstanding repertoire of songs accompanied by some artistic video work by great guys like scalpsie!!! We want more!!

  • Utterly brilliant again!

  • Thank you ... happy you are getting some pleasure from the vids and more especially the songs. Peace!

  • This is my favourite song on youtube right now. An underplayed song but given full and deserved recognition by Cliff and his wife Pat. This song was the only CTW song played at his funeral. I have rediscovered it! Thanks for a great video to a magnificent song Scalpsie (Martin) ... DONT DARE REMOVE IT!!!!!!

  • Touching comments ... you know I'll appreciate and treasure. So delighted it has brought obviously great pleasure ... so satisfying that you feel it does his music justice. Thank you...sincerely. Pax!

  • This was played at the convention the year after he passed on..gave me goosebumps and bought a tear to my eye, then, as it has now.

    thankyou.

  • You are more than welcome ... thank you for kind comments and hey ... it's good to cry ... not always with sadnes but just sheer pleasure and a warm cosy feeling. This song does it for me. Peace my friend.

  • What a truly beautiful video ~ it compliments CTW's music wonderfully.

  • Very much appreciated and thank you for viewing ... happy you enjoyed so.Peace!

  • Thank you scalpsie, the man was a true musical giant, so much truth, so much emotion, i feel very humble listening to such beauty, words are so simple but so hard to put together in such a way as he does, amazing stuff, just love it, thanks again.

  • I'm deeply touched and equally humbled by your kind comments ... so happy to have brought some added happiness to your enjoyment of CTW music ...keep browsing ... lots more to see! Peace my friend and many thanks again!

  • Scalpsie, I am loving your work. Thank You so much. My musical tastes range wide but no-one has ever moved me like CTW did, what a tragic loss. Thanks again.

  • Very grateful thanks for your sincere comments and I hope you continue to enjoy ... so peaceful. Thank you again and requests accepted. Peace!

  • Sometimes I simply cannot find words to describe the beauty of Clifford's music. There will never be another like him, so we must keep on celebrating his music on here and elsewhere. Thanks for posting!

  • Sincerity, warmth and untold appreciation within the above.Humbled...thank you. :)

  • I think this is an appropriate song to wish Clifford a 'happy birthday' R.I.P. Beautifull

  • The sng says it all and for me...thank you so much for your commnets...so,so valued. Peace!

  • In his later years Clifford was dogged by ill health and depression. This song was written in happier times. Scalpsies wonderful work in creating this video has exposed an old song to a new audience. I am not biased but this song could be number one in the charts. Another masterpiece from Cliffort T Ward handled magnificently by Scalpsie. Release it as a single and i will buy 100 copies !!!!!

  • Many thanks once more due...so glad you add to the effect by sharing your obvious personal knowledge of CTW...thanks on behalf of all.Pax!

  • Its Cliff's birthday on Feb 10 ... he would have been 63 ... sadly missed ... can we have a new video on that day to celebrate his outstanding singing and songwriting talent. Thank you so much Scalpsie!
