  • L'Angelus do no notion of the sick guy in the comments. I am from the Netherlands and am a big fan of you all, so go through with this great good music.

  • What is your problem man, if you want to stalk, then walk back to yourself. You're really busy with hatred. A run Argus? Your comments are simply annoying for everyone, so get lost. You dare not even to disclose yourself, Mr.. Anonymous? L'Angelus are great, love to listen and look on You Tube. You Tube should quickly intervene and throw you from the site.

  • you do not appear to understand the necessity of keeping instruments in a good state-I make no apologies for mentioning the sillyness of a flower stuck in a stringed instrument and also believe it or not even small people have rights.Apart from that the music is somewhat presentable.

  • looks like they are related to the Beverley Hillbillies then!

  • It is most unkind to show babies bottoms in this way and dangerous a s you do not know how this info will be processed-have you not heard of child protection laws w.r,t displaying images on the web????

Not a good ad for Christianity!!!

  • it is extremely silly to play a stringed instrument(or anyone for that matter)with a flower stuck in it-damage to the strings in this instance-on your head be it!

  • @bunionfeet1 You got a strange hair stuck up your bunion with your stupid comments. Shut up and let us Acadians enjoy our music! L'Angelus is a new fresh generation of Cajun folk music that we love.

  • Superbe. Un son plus jazzy associé à la belle musique cadienne: c'est si frais, toute la diversité de la Louisiane. Je vais surement acheter leur album sur iTunes. Great. A sound more jazzy in association with the cajun music: it's so fresh, that's all the Louisiana melting-pot. About to buy some titles at iTunes. Très bon!

  • What is the title of this song?

  • @forgetfulmuse : The french cajun title is "la chandelle est allumée" (eg "the candle is enlightened").

  • You don't have to speak French to really enjoy this beautiful music. I enjoyed this song very much.

  • musique pour le pavillon acadie à Lorient, un jour peut etre

  • Très joli morceau!

  • Man it makes me wanna dance around like a fool!

  • Hey, guys. I caught you last night in Nashville at the hockey game show.

I couldn't leave listening to you guys. You guys aren't just talented, but I rarely see groups these days who also seem to really like music and enjoy playing it. I had to look up more of you guys.

You have yet another big fan in me. I love cajun music. Never thought I'd hear "We are Family" with a fiddle.

On my way to order your CDs from your website.

You guys have something special. God bless!

  • Vive la Louisiane et les cadiens

  • I was introduced to this family's music by my son. I have their Sacred Hymns album. My son is a student priest here in UK and has met them. Have to say they are wonderful. Does a body good to know that there are still wonderful youngsters in this world. God bless you all.

  • May I insist that you really engage in a cover of "Les Acadiens" of Michel Fugain (& Le Big Bazar) ?

Find it on YT (Dailymotion too), find the lyrics (paroles) on the net.

It was a popular hit in mid-70's France, and simply tells about the Cajun way of life in modern America. (you may also consider a handful other excellent hits of him of the era. Although not directly in style, they're simple and make a potent 'goldmine' for the unaware anglo-saxon public.)

the music is good, a proven hit.

  • @lOmnivoreSobriquet

We'll check this out for sure!

  • @lOmnivoreSobriquet "May I insist that you really engage in a cover of "Les Acadiens" of Michel Fugain (& Le Big Bazar) ?" It's here: /watch?v=fYxKWA25fPQ

  • The future of cajun music is in great hands with this beautiful family as a representative.

  • This song is on their CD "C C'est Bon! and is called:

    'La Chandelle est Allumee'

Its about family-forefathers adapting to change-the wind strong but the candle is still alight. Today it's cool to be Cajun but won't change them much because the flame will always burn. (paraphrased and condensed!)

original words & music by Dirk Powell & Christine Balfa; Crying Bayou Music, BMI

  • what is the song about?

  • La joie est une émotion exprimant le sentiment d'exaltation agréable et profonde.

  • So good! I saw them live today, how old are they?

  • Might the question not be better put: "How young are they?"?

  • oldest is 25 eletric guitar, the one on bass is 24, violin player is 21. That is all I know

  • What great music!

  • Loved the band , where does that whistle comes from , though ? excellent fiddling and vocals...

  • WOW, they are awesome. Awesome.

  • love this song, love the band. makes me home sick from Tulsa.

  • A wonderful video from a terrific band.

  • Nice...

  • Excellent. Incredibly brilliant all round, should be out there in the public domain. Recommended to me by friend, previous texter, he was spot on. This would chart.

  • First time I have heard this by you, it is very, very good. Best wishes for the future, now to 'favourite' it!

  • I first heard you at the Washington Parish Fair in Franklinton 3 years ago. Since then, you have been my favorite group. I hope I get to see you live again there or someplace close to Covington. God Bless Y'all!!!!!

  • this song was written by Christne Balfa, daughter of Dewey Balfa, and with her husband Dirk Powell, they have a band called Balfa Toujours. If you like this you'll love that. I love L'Angelus rendition of this song as it really captures the Cajun spirit behind it. Beautiful!

  • I wish you success in your musical travels as you continue the tradition of the French Troubadour who was a singer of folk songs during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. "Bon Chance" and "Au Revoir."

  • "I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth." [Exodus 9:15-16 NIV]

  • Amen and Amen!

  • La joie est une émotion exprimant le sentiment d'exaltation agréable et profonde.

  • "La Chandelle Est Allumée" ("The Candle is Alight") is a song that deals with the winds of change and the fact that there are now people out there capitalizing on Cajun culture, rather than trying to stifle it as in the past.

  • The video on YouTube for the song entitled "La Chandelle Est Allumée" was fantastic. It is quite unique to hear songs in French. Au Revoir. Marc.

  • WOW! What an amazing and talented group you are! I'm so looking forward to seeing you perform live in Virginia this summer! Excellent Performance Video.

  • The harmonies at the end of the song are just wonderful. Kind of has a haunting feel to it. Hard to describe, but one thing is for sure, you guys sure do know how to sing. Great stuff here.

  • Nice video, I like the part with the twins dancing. :)
