Not sure...but I went to school with her. Lovely girl. If you remember a song called It's over, by the Funkmasters. She wrote it. Huge hit at the time.

Hmmmm, that would explain the chemistry between them that I notice in these videos after all these years. BUT, I've been on Limahl's website and he doesn't mention Mandy Newton anywhere on his site that I came across. He does have old photos up, but photos of him working with Mandy aren't there. And from what I've gathered, they performed together a lot during the release of his first solo album. She would be by his side at performances even if the band wasn't.

Yes Yes, Limahl did sound like a black woman when Kajagoogoo first came out. I second that.

About Mandy, MTV VJ's announced her on several occassions as Limahl's lady friend, companion, and they've even announced her as his girlfriend. If my memory serves me correctly, at a BBC performance, a host flat out asked Limahl if they were an item and he replied "yes," while he was holding her hand on stage. ♥

Well, Limahl hasn't been able to duplicate that aura with anyone else I've seen him perform with. He's become a bit of a stiff shirt now and the soul he used to evoke from his voice he needs to get back to doing. He needs to use his voice as an instrument of his soul. He sings very well, but he doesn't emote at all. There's no feeling him.

From what I actually recall, what I found so special about Limahl having Mandy was that both of them were uninhibited with each other and it came across as romantic. Limahl was the understood STAR, but I agree that he and Mandy paired off perfectly. She was his mojo.

RumChocolates!!! I was a closet Mandy fan until YOUUUUUUUUUU! I thought I was the only one who had an appreciation for her. I saw this video in the days new videos and I just had to check this out. I LOVE IT!!! I made a page even! You've lured me into getting an account at YouTube!!!!

The Stevie Wonder song choice really gives this a nastalgic tribute feel, especially with Limahl tilting his hat at the beginning and at the end. Limahl & Mandy made a great pair.

Wow!!!! This takes me back! I actually remember Kajagoogoo and Limahl. They were a Brit band that had a funky-sexy-jazzy-pop sound.

Rumchocolates, I give you 5 stars for even knowing who this chick IS! She was joined to Limahl's hip, but few people knew her by name. I just called her "His Girl."
