You know whatever people think about the man, dont forget that he got into F1 within 2 years from karting to F3 to F1,.. there are not that much drivers who did it this fast. Anyway you can hate him and love him for sure he did make mistakes, but he also did some great stuff with crappy cars. Does anyone remember that he drove up to a 6th place in the 1995 Argentinian race with an Simtek!!! A raw Diamond that never got polished.
He is to be fair a bit wreckless!!! in all formulae he has driven in he always has accidents!
I remember the UK headline "The Ignited colours of Benneton" when his fuel rig leaked and caused a huge fire, Joss lost his eyebrows, luckily he never killed anyone the way he drove in F1!
Jos the Boss was a bloody fast driver - can't understand why Benetton went Berger and Alesi and did not keep Verstappen. He was obviously great........
Verstappen sure had speed, but a F1 driver needs more than just speed.
Such a shame the equipment often let him down in the later part of his career. I think he did well with the 2000 Arrows-Supertec, keeping up with much faster cars. Too often he had to retire with mechanical problems when things were looking good.

Great tribute by the way.

he might have been fast, but he also caused accidents frequently. Not a bad driver, anyway

in 94 he drove for Benetton, and in 95 Herbert drove for Benetton. Another, great talent. Berger and Alesi came one year later.

My compliments for this great tribute. Not the absolute best, but Verstappen was very, very good!

Bel hommage à ce pilote flamboyant et sympathique, qui, bien qu'irrégulier, a livré quelques grandes courses à bord d'autos très modestes.
