davindog91 you are crazy. Only a white boy would say something like that. Sure you have your preferences, but that is it. You need to rethink your statements or shut up.
@davindo91 I like Joe Farrell too but... You are out of your mind. Only a white boy would make this statement. Sure you have preferences, but that is it. You need to think about things before you voice YOUR OPINION. Or shut up.
Unbelievable good fluteplaying by Joe. A very gifted instrumentalist and musician that played his doubles on such a high level and showed that it was possible to have a unique voice on them too.
If you like the flute/ballad/elvin-concept, check out Liebman's version of "My Ship" on "Live at the Lighthouse".
this was a year after trane died and his sidemen jones and garrison chose mr. farrell to go to england with--a great choice since eric dolphy wasnt around either and this cat was damn close
Ohh... the master in his top form. Simply genius. Don't you have anything alive from him with his own quartet? (jazz rock period) If yes, please post some.
Si Joseph Firrantello era un negro o un blanco o de chocolate, no importa. Lo que hacer es escuchar pero sin comparar John con Joe, o con Sonny, etc

I still believe that his work with Chick Corea was his best.

Joe was such a great reed-man. He could play tenor sax, flute, and soprano sax with equal and amazing facility.
