lol chemical jetpack :P that's so 60's. Search for "jetman grand canyon" or "martin jetpack" those things can go a few hundred miles and only cost 50-100k$

He also rents a heli to get him up there because it has no means of taking of itself. Great invention but only really useful if you have a heli handy..

@SeanBlackburn1 those engines generate 25kg of thrust a piece, so 100kg total lift and he dosent way more than 80-90 with parachute included. Google the engine he used and look at the 5000$ model

He didnt take off vertically coz he's a pussy. U cant open the parachute if something goes wrong at low altitude

Well you basically just proved my point, without using a heli to gain your initial altitude its a useless tool, Im sure if someone who flys it for a living hasnt got the balls to vertically take off then no one else would. It makes no sense to put yourself at any unnecessary risk so therefore the invention is only usefull for being no less than a glider as no one is willing to take off with it. Plus lets not forget he use's a parachute for a landing.

Also not to be picky' but if you go to the 'jetman' website it states he's currently working on a prototype which would allow him to take off from the ground, which therefore must only mean the one at the moment has not got the means of doing so.
