I have a 2.0L Vitara - it has great off-road capabilities - it has been in the Maruti garage for the past 11 months. It is 3.5 years old and has spent a considerable portion of this time in the service centre. As I said, a great off-roader!

@eolovento : It came with H/T tyres, there is no snow in this place. It has been 3 years since this video, now I have switched to Michelin LTX AT2.

As the driver reconigzes, the approach was too slow. As shown on this video, no need of mud tires or even A/T, because the soil is very dry. In fact, the 1st sort of tires would dig the terrain, making the car to be stuck.

Yes, it is only a central diff-lock. The front and rear diffs are still open.
