nice man. yeah i get what you mean about the elevation thing. i live in the socal valley so i get pretty good power down here, but when i drive to my dad's house in the high desert, where it's above the mountains, i can hardly get my car passed 4000 rpm. same thing when i'm by the beach, i can feel way more torque down there, and my car rpms get higher. elevation is a big thing, especially in carbed cars.
yeah I know, it wasn't running well at the time, and it was at 5,800 feet which reduces your power to roughly 84% of that of sea level. I have an 8 second 0-60 at sea level Grand Marquis here and it runs about 10.5 tp 11 seconds
a Murano wouldn’t do that at 5,800 ft above sea level. Also the G35 would be in the same ball park as my car here in Colorado, probably slower, my car is rated at 350 hp at sea level and has a curb weight of about 3,612 lbs and the G35 is rated at 306 hp and a curb weight of 3,642 lbs. At this altitude put both cars at about 85% that horsepower and I still have to power to weight ratio advantage.
@petopali still 8sec to 60? A m35x which is about 500lbs heavier is rated 0-60 in 6 seconds at sea level. Im pretty sure a car that is 500lbs less can do that with 15% less hp. Power to weight would matter in a race going from a rool. You can have as much hp as you want in your camaro but a g35 can launch better and get a faster time...this is a stupid argument now
Look at the G35 forums or dragtimes and the stock car is running between 13.5 and 14.8 at sea level and I know for a fact that this car ran a 14.5 flat at Bandimere at 5800+ ft and I have the time slip.
@petopali I could tell it wasent close to 350hp. I was just throwin' it out there that here in minnesota my sisters murano does it in about the same time. I was just hoping to hear back from you that there was a massive force inducted v8 stuck in there now.
the ugliest camaro ever made

To the guys talking about horsepower, yeah its weird. Camaros, now, have like 300-400hp stock. My 78 camaro has 150hp but it still kicks ass.

NOT EVEN 200 HP IN THE LATE 70'S STOCK

@mccrackenphillip: So what is your point? The new engine produces over 300 hp.
petopali 2 years ago
so everything at 5800ft is gonna be seconds slower to 60?
clarda1 2 years ago
yeah. Any increase in elevation will cause the car to loose power, since less oxygen. At like 600 feet or so though the loss of power is negligible.
petopali 2 years ago
I would think that with a ram intake and different jets, you could get about the same power :) shouldn't be too hard.

um it seems a little slow but not to bad!
