i think dirtbikes are more fun i own both bikes and quads and i'm a pretty good rider. It's just more fun to me and you have access to more places. If i were you i would get either a ktm 105sx or a kawasaki kx100 but i would say the ktm just because at least in my opinion they make better bikes

Well is probably the right height for you but it might have a lot of powerful for a 12 year old if you never drove a bike before and you might want to go with a 125 4 stroke or a 85 2 stroke and take it easy.
