No! Jews understood nothing of Christ at John's baptism, they were not baptized to be Christians.Jews were baptized for coming of Messiah. The axe was already laid out at the tree.No baptism ever removed sin John baptized for washing it was ceremonial.Only Christ by His death in retrospect could remove sin from these Jews. They were not coming for "change" but for attitude preparation for Christ. Not all baptized kept their preparing for Messiah. John did not baptize in Jesus Name
Lanech an end is always necessary for a beginning. Things end all the time, and things begin all the time. So people are always correct in saying these are the last days or end times. Something always ends. It's always the end time for someone or something. At this very moment someone's life is ending or reign of power is ending. But things are also beginning. You can't have a To without a FROM. Both always exist.
Hi Lane. I know I send you but just wanted to let you know that I send them to everyone at once. It is easier this way and faster. What do you think abou the times that we are living in? Things are looking a big scary out there. Economy going down, job loses, extreme weather and disasters everywhere, earthquakes. Now we are hearing about famine which I believe is going to get worst and then there will be pestilence. Iran on the hot seat again. Your response would be appreciated.
History repeatedly shows us that times become bad in certain aspects whether it be economically, socially, etc. During each of these times, many say that these are the end times. I admit that I am a bit skeptical when I hear this because it has been used so many times before and we're still here. I don't believe it's beneficial to the body to jump to conclusions regarding the catastrophes that are occurring the same as it wasn't beneficial to do so in times past. (cont...)
That brother is incredibly comforting indeed. That God's will will be done, that He will get the glory He deserves, that He will accomplish all that He sets out to do.
Okay and I agree. I remember back in my early church years that these tv preachers would say that this is the end or we are getting close and buy my book or video. They created some sort of fear and made you want to see or read what there answer was. A lot of secular radio talk show hosts do this today also. Thanks for the reply and God Bless my friend.

Regardless we can always take comfort in the facts that God remains sovereign and His will will be accomplished.
