surely their different filmmakers. I admire Bay's work ethic but dazzling explosions in front of me isn't as appealing as Kubrick's storytelling. It's also quite clear Bay is after the cash as opposed to Kubrick who was after art. It's also unfair to judge, and especially from Mr. 1994, cause Bay is still alive and reaping the benefit's of modern technology, but I'd like to imagine what Kubrick would be up to if he were still with us.

@Zambior You've just got to know where to look. Cinema always has its ups and downs, good and bad. Sure, in the past couple years we've had Mars Needs Moms, Hall Pass, Grown Ups and Furry Vengeance. We've also had There Will be Blood, The Social Network, Zodiac, Black Swan, Certified Copy, The Tree of Life, etc. Great films are released every year, and although the vast majority of them don't come close to any of Kubrick's movies, I wouldn't say cinema is "assfuckingly gay nowadays".

This is captivating and shows how Kubrick uses certain themes in all his movies and related imagery. The ending is a shock to the senses. I especially like the section that shows all the extreme zoom camera work in his films. Amazing director and a wonderful tribute!
