Nokia's N90 was released two years before the first iPhone and it still takes better pictures. As much as iPhone users insist, the optics that Apple uses are quite bad. Another thing that bugs me is the fact that the camera function always lags on the iPhone. Every other app will be lightning quick but when I press "camera", it'll take a full 2 seconds to come up.
Why does it matter if your camera can take good pictures? I guess its pretty cool when your messing around, but If you are really looking for high quality photographs then at least get a point and shoot

Smartphones can surf the web with videos, ajax and java support and internet radio just like the desktop! do your research before making a comment. camera on cellphones are decent enough to replace a day to day camera! use these gadgets first properly before saying blah blah blah.

I have(had) both, also i had N96. I sent the iphone back, the iphone is a stunning piece of kit. but it lacks the functionality of the n95.
Also i sent the n96 back as it was an improvement over the n95, it was not a big enough improvement over the n95 to justify being tied in to an 18 month contract.
N95 has more features and a nice camera, but I'd take iphone 3g any day. Because it's a really awesome toy xD. And you can add more features to it by jailbreaking it.
iPhone's camera is better to take photos in light places. Nokia's camera is better for ,taking pics in motion. i've compared them. iPhone makes the quality worse if you change the size of picture. if you copy photo from iPhone to computer and compare it to the same photo on iPhone you will see that iPhone camera is preety good.
i had an n95 and now have an iphone. i was always dissapointed with the n95's camera, yes it has auto focus but it always focused on the wrong things!! the iphones pictures are much sharper! the iphone is awesome and kicks the n95's ass!
well having a n95 is better than having an iphone in one pocket and having a camera in the other. the iphone's bluetooth(useless) doesn't even connect to many bluetooth headphones so u need to walk around with that wired apple one. and i got sick with all the problems the iphone gave me so i sold it, and bought a n95
It is an awesome camera for a phone...a friend of mine has it and they are truly amazing...but if you are a picture fan you might as well buy a camera...Having a cool camera brings problems too, like the HUGE size and bricky design. Plus it DOES NOT LOOK COOL.
mega pixels are the size of wich the pitcher is and i dont kno how much 400 Es are in the us but and a dslr camera is around 800 here at least for a good one and you cant really compare a dslr to a digital camera and you should just buy a small good digital camera then wasting money on a n95

Hehe living in the past man, don't you get it? Cameras integrated into phones are such great quality now. I'm willing to be that unless you are a photographer, the 5MP camera in the N95 is equal or greater to the quality of your digital camera.
And let's face it, it's one less device to carry around. Found yourself in a situation where you didn't expect to take a photo/video? Nokia N95 owners just whip out their phone. But im sure you can run back home for your camera :)

N95 is HIDEOUS and if I need a good camera I am not going to use my cell phone as a camera!!! >_>.. Cell phones almost ALWAYS make for bad, sub-standard cameras in terms of lense quality. Only one I've seen with a really good lense is LG Viewty, which is too thick and ugly.
Ok well since I'm already spending twice as much for the same shitty 3 year contract without even a data plan for N95 (iPhone 3G $199, Nokia N95 8GB $399).. I wouldn't mind spending $150 on a good camera from Sony, Exilim, or other companies that can actually make cameras, unlike Nokia.
And when will you stop living in the past and realise that technology is moving constantly, and eventually cameras will have such great quality that humans will be unable to notice the difference in quality, and mobiles (aka cell phones for you) will eventually have cameras that have a decent camera in them.

Seen a comparsion between an N95 and a cheap 200 euro pocketcamera (the N95 costs about 2,5 times as much). The result? The cheap pocket camera beat the N95 by far.
So, I would just prefer having a cheap smartphone (like a Nokia 6555 or an iPhone 3G) and a cheap pocket camera instead of just an N95 (for 100 euros more).

Actualyl N82 does better picture than N95 due to a xeron flash, you can't compare to Iphone because is totally different categories, yes N95 no doubt has super camera and video record, but Iphone better for future use and lots of creative way never thought possible in a phone.

i've tried both, but the n95's camera is better than the k850i. the k850i can only take pictures at super far distance, zooming screws everything up. but on the n95, zooming is an option.

ha, very funny. it must be said the camera on the iphone should hardly be called a camera. its awful. i haven't tried the N95 but my looking on flickr its fairly impressive.
you know 5mpx actually means nothing as my SLR is 6mpx but the photo is about a thousand times better. why, the lens isnt the size of a revel

Hehe living in the past man, don't you get it? Cameras integrated into phones are such great quality now. I'm willing to be that unless you are a photographer, the 5MP camera in the N95 is equal or greater to the quality of your digital camera.
And let's face it, it's one less device to carry around. Found yourself in a situation where you didn't expect to take a photo/video? Nokia N95 owners just whip out their phone. But im sure you can run back home for your camera :)

N95 is HIDEOUS and if I need a good camera I am not going to use my cell phone as a camera!!! >_>.. Cell phones almost ALWAYS make for bad, sub-standard cameras in terms of lense quality. Only one I've seen with a really good lense is LG Viewty, which is too thick and ugly.

Ok well since I'm already spending twice as much for the same shitty 3 year contract without even a data plan for N95 (iPhone 3G $199, Nokia N95 8GB $399).. I wouldn't mind spending $150 on a good camera from Sony, Exilim, or other companies that can actually make cameras, unlike Nokia.

And when will you stop living in the past and realise that technology is moving constantly, and eventually cameras will have such great quality that humans will be unable to notice the difference in quality, and mobiles (aka cell phones for you) will eventually have cameras that have a decent camera in them.

Seen a comparsion between an N95 and a cheap 200 euro pocketcamera (the N95 costs about 2,5 times as much). The result? The cheap pocket camera beat the N95 by far.
So, I would just prefer having a cheap smartphone (like a Nokia 6555 or an iPhone 3G) and a cheap pocket camera instead of just an N95 (for 100 euros more).

Actualyl N82 does better picture than N95 due to a xeron flash, you can't compare to Iphone because is totally different categories, yes N95 no doubt has super camera and video record, but Iphone better for future use and lots of creative way never thought possible in a phone.

The only better feature the iPhone has is the touch screen, without that its shit. iPhone has no GPS or mms and isn't technology sposed to be getting better e.g. 2mp camera, WTF keep up with technology, almost every nokia camera phone has a better camera. And a GPS is a huge thing for a phone to have. Nokia are developing better and better phones all the time. Apple should stick with making iPods and shitty computers.

just look at the reviews i think i have about 90% of all review websites and magazine rate iphone better than n95 its not about what spec a phone has its about how well it works ow and we all know nokias running on symbian s60 are know for crashing and being as slow as turtle and im speaking from having a n73 and having two friends who have n95 they are too prone for crashing and taking ages to load so stop saying n95 is better ok it is in a spec point of view but thats it.

i've tried both, but the n95's camera is better than the k850i. the k850i can only take pictures at super far distance, zooming screws everything up. but on the n95, zooming is an option.
