1. get a hdmi cable if your console and monitor support hdmi game out (console) and hdmi video in (monitor)

2. if ur monitor only supports dvi in just get an hdmi to dvi converter (wal-mart)

3. use the setup that this guy has. plug this into mic input and put in headphones i guess.

4. get an rca converter box (google it)

Heya peeps, will a vga cable work when it is hooked up to a laptop?

My laptop has the correct port so In theory it should work what worries me however is that because the screen draws its power from the computer, the laptop must be on for it to work. I run vista (yes vista -.-) and I cant help but think vista and the xbox are going to have some epic battle for priority use of the screen.

I have ordered my vga cable and so time will only tell but if anyone has any advice please let me know.

@constantine131 yes, i just bought a slim and the vga cable fits perfectly. When your buying the vga cable i highly recommend ebay, it is much cheaper than buying it from a retail store for 30 or 40 bucks. on ebay you can get one for 2 to 7 bucks.

you dont need and xbox vga cable. just get a vga/rca cable that jas the 3 audio/video female on one end and the vga on the other. plug the xbxo cables into the females and the vga into ur monitor. TADA!
