Either these kids are not excited about getting baptized or nervous. I can't stand cults that use intimidation and threats to get members to obey. In JW organization one of the biggest threats is disfellowshipping. I've read & heard exJWs stories & it's disheartening. How do you tell folks not to associate w/ their own family because they are disfellowshipped? I can see them advising you to keep your distance from certain family members if they were into something illegal, but this is crazy!
it is legally ecclesiastical contract to defrock according to supreme court case in us with orthodox greek priest court said churches CAN have their own tribunal/kangaroo courts( my phrase). you have a right to leave or stay....legal right to leave.
My dad was baptised at 9 along with other kids because they told them to do it and after words all the kids would get ice cream. Lucky he left when he was around 19 and i did when i was around 14 we are lucky to have left.
happily there are always a number that get pregnant, turn to drugs and contract aids. Such a better decision than deciding to try and serve god wouldn't you say.
@sunshineuk1965 So your saying that if a child doesnt get baptised as a JW they will turn out bad? This is the most arrogant and assinine statment I have read in a long time
@sunshineuk1965 What a load of bullshit. This shows exactly the sanctimonious attitude many JWs have. I have news for you many JWs young people live double lives and are having sex, cursing, drugs, etc and NO they are not serving God but they are slaves to the Watchtower Society. I just got into a little argument with a JWs young lady on Youtube. She was saying how they have the truth and actually teach the bible. I checked out her youtube account and in a comment....
@sunshineuk1965 cont. in a comment in a video she was cursing up a storm with F this F that. I remember one time I was at a meeting and the number 69 was mentioned (don't remember why) and these two JWs teenage boys looked at each other and snickered. You really think JWs teens are little angels who don't do anything wrong. Wake up and most of the time it's not that they want to serve your God, but they feel pressure to.
This the tragedy of life that if you are link to a tree you will recive its shadow. A baby does not understand that but they fallow their parents. if their parents are wrong they will be wong, just a few get rid of the satanic religion
Reality check, The bible was written by False visionaries and scoundrels who were outcasts of the Jewish people. They wrote this elaborate "scripture" to gain the trust of the people through good morals and principles. Their was no "God" involved. Those who worship these word are emotionally weak, Those who fear death, Blind conformists, Greedy liars and last but not least the ignorant. so i ask you. Which category are you in ??? (please tell me if I'm missing something)
@MrFakegods - You are missing alot if the bible was written by false visionaries why is most religion within the christian or catholic faith? why is this religion the most life changing religion in the world. You might not believe there is a god or not but i assure you there is. Every location stated in the holy bible are now being found? and all prophecys of the bible are coming true? so if there isent a god and this book you think it is is all false than why is it all right? answer that
@JulianC123321 Catholics are Christians. There aren't "Christians" on one side and "Catholics" on the other. I'm sorry for correcting you. I agree with the rest of your comment. Kind regards.-
@JulianC123321, in this world there are good people who do good things, and bad people who do evil things, but for good people to do evil things? Now, that takes religion and the Bible. You might not believe winged fire-breathing camels exist, but I assure you they do! See how that bullshit works? If God exists, then why does the feckless thug need corrupt lying coercive men to write books for him, interpret those books conflictingly and confusingly, and speak FOR him?
@JulianC123321, the fact that locations mentioned in the Bible are being found isn't evidence of its supernatural claims, or that the book was authored by a god. I could write a book mentioning the events of 9/11, but erroneously attribute the collapse of the WTC buildings to the finger of a firebreathing flying camel. You could prove that the WTC and NY City did actually exist, but you could never prove the building fell by supernatural causes. The OT is a fictitious account of the Jews.
2.57 - 3,00 "But uh They make you answer like 125 questions or so."
It used to be 80 questions. That is cultic publishing organization inflation for you.
Perhaps the Watchtower Bible && Track Society had some "new light". And they reconfigured to a new number. Reuben died at 125 years of age, so that may be the "bible-based" reason behind it.
Catholics have whats called 'the age of reason' 7, when one is sentient && aware. JWs have changed, unofficial past limit was ~14. Boost up numbers.
@PublishingCult I heard that the child was baptized at 6 but I could hear nothing of the so called coercion that you state. Please lower the music or something so we can hear it.
I was baptized in this CULT when I was 14, almost 15, and I was pressured into it. I was told numerous times that I was almost getting to old to be baptized. So they do encourage child baptizm and are willing to throw the children "to the dogs" when they want to leave.
@JekuJekah, the JW did not actually say "coerced". I was being sarcastic, and as you know, there is no other way a child can be lead to to commit to such a lifetime commitment unless they are coerced.
I remember those large conventions. I'd converted to being a JW at the age of 20, married & then shortly after become a young widowed mother. I was bringing up my young son as a JW but he somehow always resisted the whole indoctrination thing. I later left the organisation & now both me and my, now 18 year old son, are both free of this cult. My son's a free thinking individual now, as too am I. I'm glad I didn't force him to go through with baptism & that I finally saw the light to leave.
"1) On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will? 2) Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?" WT 4/1/2006 p22
All must answer "YES" to these 2 questions to get a Watchtower Society water Baptism.
This all is in opposition to Jesus Christ's command at Mat 28:18-20

Apostates are funny.
sunshineuk1965 9 months ago
@sunshineuk1965, that is a false arguement.
There are plenty of JW kids who turn to drugs, get pregnant and contract aids.
There are plenty of nonJW kids who don't have those problems. All three of my children are happy, productive, disease and drug-free.
Being in the cult would have most likely driven them to drugs.
You're funny.

@billcary30, I thought that was odd, too. Maybe her feet slipped or something. Who knows?
PublishingCult 10 months ago
@billcary30 I think it's because her knees came out of the water - your whole body needs to be immersed at once for it to be an acceptable baptism.

2 Baptismal Questions asked JW candidates:
