i think the record is rather good, but for me part of yannis appeal was that the instruments were the main thing instead of the voices

I haven't watched it yet but i still wonder what can be so bad? I mean, every thing that's new makes us feel uneasy, but Yanni is wonderfully talented, and he knows how to do good music, so he knows how to choose the voices. It's not that his sound is better or worse, it's just differrent than before. You shoud open your minds. after I see the video, I'll say what i thought about it! =D

Natahn Pacheco is pretty good, the only singer i like cuz he really suits yanni's old style. the rest of the singers are talented as well but i feel that chloe girl is trying to show-off her body than her talent, what a whore! nothing can be as good as the old yanni i knew. the old fans all prefer him, it's only the pop-lover who like the voices. i miss the old yanni =(

You can't really judge this CD by its cover. That's because "Voices" is a potpourri of vocal work that arguably doesn't fit Yanni's traditional paradigm of world instrumental new-age. It sounds more like a pop music CD. I've been a Yanni fan for years, but when Ethnicity was released, I could sense a hint that Yanni was beginning to depart from this traditional mistique of foreign inspired instrumentals. This album for me was a disappointment. old stuff was better IMHO.

You are correct about this. When he did say, "Never mind what Yanni used to do," it felt to me like he tried to shunt his past, almost like saying, "I didn't care much for what I created before today." I couldn't really believe he said this... I had to hear it several times to believe it. Instead he prefered trading his unique sound for some way too common pop music flavor. What a pity. I hope his next CD (if there is one) will be better.

Just went to his concert in Salt Lake City and it was awesome! Every single musician in his orchestra is so talented. I never thought a harp player could render me speechless, but it happened!

Just got back from the Dallas show. It was ok...... I did not like all the singing. It got really old fast. The best parts were when Yanni did his old stuff. THe singing took away from Yahni..... IT was like Yanni was supporting him... I hope he NEVER does this again.....
