Hard to beat this one. Here you have two people who were just gorgeous, but beyond that they both exude intelligence, breeding, and charm. It seems all lost these days.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A DELIGHT. GREAT VIDEO AND SONG. INGRID BERGMAN IS DROP DEAD BEAUTIFUL, AND CARY GRANT IS UBER HANDSOME. TOGETHER THEY ARE FANTASTIC. THANK U SO MUCH FOR THIS POST.
One of my favorite movie hearthrobs... since I was 13!! Nice montage, and both Peggy Lee's voice and Gershwin's song make a great background music! Thanks for posting.
I was in love with Cary Grant from his first frame in FATHER GOOSE, then went backwards and TRULY fell love in with him in the PHILADEPHIA STORY then was addicted and still am. Your video was good but would have been grand had you thank the brothers responsible for this tremendous song from PORGY AND BESS, please change your end credits to lyrics by Ira Gershwin and score by George Gershwin. ~ Janet Thompson Deaver
I went into the video store a week ago and said to the owner "Do you have Notorious on DVD? I've fallen in love with Cary Grant and I can't help myself." He said "Yeah. It happens all the time."
ohhhhh i just want to put my finger in his chin dimple... he gives me goosebumps... my god he was gorgeous. I cant watch his movies w/o falling for him
@geekery15 ... now, now.... we have to be sophisticated about our expressions.... this is class personified. The greatest love scenes ever put on on film, in my not so humble opinion, especially at the end when he rescues her and those closeups and the whisperings of love, and it was all fm the neck up and and noone took their clothes off !
wasnt archie leech the most handsome man ever and ingrid omg lovely they dont make stars like that no more and wonderful gershwin tune and wonderful peggy singing to heaven ty
I know he was acting, Cary Grant, but today, I can feel they are "acting" and it's disappointing. He filled the screen and I don't think he knew it. He just did it. I'm glad they didn't have handlers and the red carpet because it would have lessened the art.
Ok, what is james bond's relation to this? Don't get it. James Bond is very shallow in every way, whether you mean character or movie and not good enough for CG.
It should be mentioned that this song is from the Gershwin borthers. It is considered a standard. Peggy Lee did a great job singing it but it is as much a Peggy Lee song as it is one of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Barbara Streisand, etc...
Cary and Ingrid starred together in Notorious and Indiscreet. Notorious was significant in that their kissing scene which lasted longer than the Censors allowed at that time escaped editing because the kiss was interrupted by periods of ear nibbling . Quite a saucy scene of foreplay between a very attractive couple. The story plot was a winner as well. Thanks for posting
My God! That was wonderful. He is the most gorgeous man who ever lived! Just beautiful and sexy and a gentleman to boot! Thank you for making this film.
@aussie1689 HELL there was never an actor who ever entertained so well slapstick to drama and who wore a suit so well as Cary Grant...making this is slow motion amplifies that effect exponentially to the nth degree LOL
Undoubtedly, the best movie of the history of the cinema. Cary and Ingrid perfect actors always, Hitchcock in full form. And Peggy Lee's music. It exists slightly better in this world?
@IngridBergmanRocked your comment is 3 yrs old, but is the re-release DVD of Notorious a new DVD or do you mean as alternative to VHS video? I bought a 4 set Anchor Bay high quality VHS with Notorious, Rebecca, Spellbound and The Paradine Case. about 5 yrs ago. Amazon review of DVD of Notorious at that time said film showed flaws, specs due to original studio film and he suggested the velvety creamy black/white of a high quality video. But if better DVD I want it.
Oh my god - you used Peggy Lee - perfect perfect choice and perfect to set against the love of Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. I wish they did many more films together
I was JUST thinking the same thing and was about post thought when I saw yours. This post is so wonderful and perfection with Peggy singing this Gershwin jewel.
I just finished reading one of Cary's bios, and the author stated that he had "feverish crushes" on the following (4) leading ladies: Irene Dunne, Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly & Sophia Loren.
Now, when I watch NOTORIOUS, a happy voice is singing in my head "Cary's got a feverish crush on Ingrid, fa-la-la-la-la...la-la-la-laaaaa!
The story in this video is the song by George Gershwin and the singer Peggy Lee - both giants in the music industry. You could show a video of a pile of rocks and it would still be spine-tingling to listen to this music.
WOW!, is about all I can say about this wonderful video. Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman are magical as a couple. I had never seen this movie and it is now on the top of my must-see list. I had no idea that Hitchcock could create such beautiful scenes with these wonderful camera angles. My favorite is when Cary rises from the chair and walks around behind Ingrid and she turns her head and follows him just with her eyes as he walks by. The kiss at the door in the end is tops too. Thanks
I LOVE CARY GRANT ... he's just so fluid if you guys know what I mean. I've always said I would have loved to have a little foray to the other side with Flynn but ... Grant would be my permanent guy or Stewart.
Perfect song for the perfect man. Had to give your video 5 stars because visuals and lyrics are very well synchronized. (Besides, Cary Grant and Peggy Lee are both favorites of mine!) Cary can be briefly seen, clapping, at the end of Peggy's video of "Where or When."
What a top-notch video for a top-notch movie. I think you made me fall in love all over again. Thanks for sharing such an epic video.
