2011 BMW X5 Facelift First Promo

I really question BMW when it comes to the X5.

They have the resources, the technology, the budget yet they can't make it a proper off roader. I know the typical buyer wouldn't take it off road most of the time but It would be quite nice to have an alternative to the usual Range Rover and Porsche Cayenne.

It's a shame really because I would buy one if it could do a bit more off roading (because of the road conditions where I live). The X5 is really a good looking SUV by the way.

Looks better than the old one in my opinion BUT it is still a pointless car along with the X1 and X6. The X5 is big but that's just it. They should've at least pulled a Range Rover out of it and gave it the tech that would help it actually go off road and impress the mates in the country club at the same time.

If not, why not get a 5 Series Estate? Well that's BMW. People will buy anything they'll sell just for that nice badge.

@yelzhan123 Have you ever driven one? I own a 335i (although I'm currently driving an X5) and the quality and customer service has been top notch all around. I've had a wonderful experience thus far, and the quality is as good as it gets.

I would just like to point out that these cars are manufactured by Americans in South Carolina by BMW of North America, which is its own company and is merely a subsidiary of BMW AG. If you want to spend your hard-earned greenbacks on a BMW, there are more "genuine" or "German" ones to be had. However, if you purchase one of these vehicles, it's likely you're less concerned with the quality control and differences in the manufacturing philosophy than you are the shiny BMW roundel.

I very rarely see one being used for it's correct purpose. @jagalarab if im not wrong it's now using the a similar engine with the 335. twin turbo 3L in line 6. and with an 8 speed gearbox. the car now has 306bhp compared to 272bhp of the pre facelift. On paper this X5 sounds promising.
