it doesent look fun to be in or to watch. demo derbys used to be a poor mans sport anybody could get a car and had a chance to win. and every derby i go to they allow more and more welds. our derbys are stock. but the guys with money will go south and find a big solid car and put a 500 hp motor in it. thats the guys i try to put out.

Why use an imperial I would use a 70-80's monte, grand prix something mid sized if you're going to add that much steel. You can still have an indestructible body/frame and you will be able to maneuver around quicker trying to take axle shots on other cars along with less stress on the drive train.

This is totally useless. These cars are built like tanks and they don't even hit hard enough. Now before anyone says "if you think you can drive any better get out there and do it" I have and I drove a 60 Olds one year and I didn't baby the car either.

the reason we paint our cars black is to blend in with the rest and to hide anything done to the body of the car, if we take a run at a guy and don't put him out and our car is brightly painted he will take note of that and come after your car but if your car is painted black like most other people he may not be able to find you again

during the stock heat they stopped the derby got the drivers out of their cars for a break.This was not even ten minutes into the derby.Drivers were adjusting their carbs and talkin to each other.
