Me and my family got picked to go to hunt sika at Chincoteague island. I have never hunted sika before. Can anybody tell me if hunting is go over there. Also it's a gun hunt so I was wondering if buckshot would be a good way to shot them.
you can use buckshot i've shot a number of sikas with it in really thick places it works great, sikas are strange lil buggers not much reason to them i like to get in the rdge of shortgrass marshes they seem to like the edges
Very nice video. Too bad you couldn't take the hoss. Blackwater is a nice place, what area were you hunting? I'm only familiar with area u, and B1. I took a monster sika buck during the earlier muzzle loader last year. Scored 73 3/8. With a 24" neck. The user name below isn't me, but somehow on my pc.

Are you hunting on private land? I am trying to find an outfitter so I can go Try to whack one with my bow. If you know of one let me know.

No, you don't hunt deer with buck-shot,
you would use slugs. I have no experiance
of how Chincoteague is.
