  • There is only one Willie Nelson. So happy to still have him among us. See him while he's here or forevermore be sorry.

  • Yes, I know it's not perfect; in that if he were in a studio, he'd probably do another take. But it's perfect in the manner in which he presents with such comfort and ease.

  • WILLIE is just simply GREAT and He will live FOREVER

  • um super cool and awesome

  • my paps favorite song :) yea

  • wow now that was beautiful the mark of a true artist is what he/she can do with just there voice and an acoustic guitar and this was awesome

  • Oh my gosh! Thank you for posting this video. I remember it very well. It is my favorite song. I love it when it is just he and his guitar. Makes me cry. Thank again!

  • Willie's my hero...as real as it gets, not a sound recorded dub, just a dub

  • this is on willies golf course in briar cliff , which is a wonderful place if you get to go ..also know by stoners and golfers as the rock!!

  • nobody does it like Willie

  • I like this even though it's so short - I love the intimacy. Thanks for posting it.

  • legend is all that can be said! Anyone know if or where I can download an MP3 of this version - am trying to figure out the jazz chords he's using?

  • that was awesome. next best thing to having willy himself in your backyard. thanks

  • My first husband played guitar, banjo and harmonica and he was the one who turned me onto Country music via "THE RED HEADED STRANGER"

He also did a masterful cover of "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground" but our relationship ended in '88, but those memories of the good times never will.

Thanks to Bry for the reminder!

    little sis,

    xoxe

  • Beautiful song, singing and guitar playing.

Thank you very much for sharing BryanOverturf.

    Friendly greetings,

    Michael

  • I remember this interview. Barbara asked Willie what he liked most about his music and he said, "I like to hear ME sing," then he went into this song.

  • Wow...some people are blessed with talent but Willie was touched by the hand of God.

  • so real, I luv the wind and birds in the background.. he has such a heartfelt voice,

  • My dad was killed in an accident in 1988.

This song was my mom and dads "song"

It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

  • How much would you pay for THAT fence-seat? !!! Stunning! *****

  • This was just after Ole Willy blew Barbie a big bong shotgun

  • Really? I didn't know Barb indulged!

  • get to see him in a couple weeks!!!!!

  • he has SUCH a "young" voice!!!!

  • he's a jazz man.

  • i ahve been in love with willie since i was 16 years old im now 45. he was such a big part of my life then with his music. i still miss phases and stages and wish he would put that whole album on line.

  • too slow but nice

  • For truly "too slow" see the Greatest Hits and Some That Will Be album...

  • Well I guess you know more than the man who wrote it and made it famous.......ROTFLMAO

  • @MegaHoncho That wasn't too slow, it was perfect! Perhaps you are going too fast to appreciate beauty enough to really feel it.

  • His sister is right, he really doesnt know how good he is. I cant believe there's not dozens of guys on the radio trying to play and sound like him. When i grow up i want to play and sing like willie.

  • my favorite Willieong

  • Too bad Willie doesn't play with steel strings more often.

  • Willie wrote this about my Grandmother...

I can never hear it without weeping.

THANK YOU, Willie- you still rock, old man.

  • can you elaborate?

  • and here I thought he wrote it about his wife...

  • According to the interview, he said he wrote it for his wife Connie, maybe you know something Willie doesn't. Hmmmmmmmm! NOT

  • Thank you for having this video, I watch it often. Please keep it on board. I have shared it with many people. Thank you.

  • No problem. Also: this really goes with the YouTube vid of Willie "Always on my Mind 1982" (live)...chronologically very close. Thanks for your interest.

  • i love willie. monster4josh your right. i know he wrote some of his songs. is this one of them he wrote??? i love this song. he is just so talented. my mom said he went to hawaii at a concert. i was really little. i remeber that alittle but not much. we were at the front row. she said he smilied at me. i would love to meet him. i grw up listening to him.

    A GREAT LEGEND

  • Yes, he is cool. There is alot more to Willie than what appears on the surface. He is an extraordinary guitar player, who much of the time plays "simple" guitar, but will frequently blow you away if you listen enough to him.

  • willie nelson is pretty cool

  • A song about Hells Angels MC

  • WOW!!!

  • I adore Willie Nelson. He is so damn awesome!

  • Beautiful.

  • One of Willies best songs by far. Its weird seeing him playing without his old holey Martin.

  • that cowboy-jazz style he does is so beautiful.

  • That was great!! When was this?? I notice he didn't look up once whilst singing. I wish I could've heard what she said. She's rough on people with her questions. Thanks for the post.

  • I love vids like this, this is music in its brilliant, raw form. Thanks for putting it up.

  • My pleasure
