Why would any bizz owner feel comfortable in hiring when they dont know how expensive Obama's policys are going to make his employees. Obamacare is a govt take over and cap and trade will take over the rest of the economy plus you add all the job busting govt mandates that this admin comes up with. The stim bill is a failure because if it were a success we would not need a job summit. Job summit in dec means Obama is clueless in how to fix the economy.
How do we inspire companies to hire, with so much uncertainty in the future of federal policy?
Cap and Trade, Climate Bill, Healthcare bill.... these will all affect employers and how they do business, but none of these bills are settled. All of them are still being decided on.
How can we convince employers to commit to long term employment, when their long term status are yet to be determined?
Exactly....I speak with 2-3 dozen business owners every week in my work. They are all scared to death...any thoughts of hiring or even keeping their present work force is the last thing on their mind now.
They are truly between a rock and a hard place, and this economy won't come back around until Cap & Trade and the Health Care industry take over are shelved or defeated. Obama and his people are economic and business fools.
A Jobs Summit is not needed. Withdraw all unnecessary troops from overseas, including Iraq and Alfganistan. Cut taxes and decrease regulations. End the fed. Abolish the income tax.
@Becca let's give the President and Administration a chance to make right with unemployment, it's a national issue and we need their support. Let's have faith that 12-3-09 will be a step in the right direction.- CG

Very true....
Unions don't create jobs.
Also, of the big CEOs there, some of them have actually laid more people off than they've hired this year.
What he's saying : Lets talk about creating jobs.
What he means: Lets talk about building the unions and keeping the wealth neutral.
Google "SEIU's 9 point plan".
Every one includes spending public money to regulate something, most would benefit SEIU.
