@WITCHCRAFTKING --- It was the right day for the year, ie.2010. It falls on the Full Moon in May and that will always be a different date. In fact the above was the first time the ritual was done, by the person who wrote it :-)
@3Dnightshade --- The words are not actually Greek, but yes - you will find an explanation on the project website search for "Ephesian Letters" with Her Sacred Fires and it should show up on google. Unfortunately youtube won't let me post a link.
@3Dnightshade --- I am guessing you refer to the "Askei Kataskei" etc? Youtube won't let me post links here, but if you google --- Ephesian Letters ““Askei Kataskei…” or search for those words on the project website which is sacredfires.co.uk then you will find an article explaining it.
Thank you for sharing this most intimate encounter with Our Dread Lady. May the Great Goddess continue to bless and inspire you on your path, and may She keep the fire of your devotion strong in your heart. You have inspired me, dear sister.
Hello! This rite is quite beautiful. I used your invocation as part of a song I'm recording, but before I publish it, I of course want to ask your permission for its use. It would mean a lot as it has added an amazing magical force to the piece. Let me know what you think, thanks!
@utis144000 - The Oracle of the Goddess Hekate had very interesting things to say about the followers of Jesus, and about the man himself. In the 3rd CE Porphyry recorded some of these sayings, you might want to look into that before judging others. Jesus was kind to people of other faiths, as a Christian I am sure you would wish to follow in his footsteps?
but im wondering if this is the only way to make contact, because personally i just calm my mind, and ask, and when she is ready, she gives me a wonderous sign....theres a story there. just ask.
@Didus33th4t1 - Of course not. People all do things differently, the purpose of the Hekate Her Sacred Fires book project was to bring together people with different experiences, different ways of working and connecting, all and all around 50 people shared their visions and experiences, and each are as unique as the person who wrote it.
I wish I had viewed this prior to performing the Rite to get the hand gestures correct and the pronunciation of the ephesian letters. :( Although, I must say I came VERY close.
So i ask to whoever worships this goddess. Does Hekate truly gives some divine knowledge, something that cannot be learned from this earthly realm or some true paranormal gifts. Or is just tricks on the mind in making you believe in the divinity....
@JeniahXaliph Well, my own personal belief on divinity adheres more to the quantum mechanics angle of it in that human consciousness brought these divine beings into existence. We gave them dominion over certain aspects of our own preexisting knowledge of the universe which is somewhat dormant at this point in our evolution. So I personally don't believe they should be worshiped, but instead worked with for guidance. My own dealings with Hekate have been rather helpful. She's a wonderful teacher
Ive been fascinated with the history of this goddess for some reason....not sure why...she seems to be the oldest god, by far, who is still mentioned by people seriously...Shes been around 4750 years, and probably even much longer.
I hope this doesnt offend, but she has really relaxed over the millenia. Once upon a time she demanded that those who would address her mutilate themselves and sacrifice a dog or a bull at least, and perhaps a human. Do you ever feel like you're cheating?
@juggalette4lyfefu Thank you for comment - it is an idea ! The rite has been translated into numerous languages, latin was going to be one of them, but in the end we ran out of time before the date happened - but maybe for future? See the project website (sacredfires.co.uk) for the available translations if you are interested!
@kwsmoot3915 Thank you very much! The video was made by Tara Sanchez and we had very little time to put it together. The footage was filmed on the night of Beltane (1 May) and it was raining very heavily outside, hence the sound of rain (which sounds a bit like a cracking fire!) in the background!
thank you for sharing your rite. its always inspiring to see how other folks conduct religious ceremony. 'uniting stars and stones...' - good line. if you don't my asking, what's the meaning of the non-english bit shortly after?
@forkfullofpie Thank you very much. You will find an explanation of the non-english words on the project website see sacredfires.co.uk and search for "ephesian letters" which should take you to the blog entry about it!
Wonderful performance!!!! But it was the wrong day to do it. This year it's supposed to be May 6th
