Stonehenge was an excarnation site (see Q and R holes) orientated to the moon not midsummer sunrise (that was at a later date when they built the Sarsen stones) and your dates are all over the place - sorry!!

SH is a burial ground, like a lot of prehistoric monuments. It's also much more. After it fell out of use it's been used as a tourist draw, like it or not. People will never stop asking questions. In order to find out it's necessary to enquire. A lot has already been dug. What hasn't been told is about the people. Who were they, what made them tick, what did they believe? To answer that you need to look at DNA. As long as exhumation is done with respect, then in answer to your question - yes!
