are you sure the driver didnt take a wrong turn? im sure i saw a lighthouse in one of these shots....pmsl that has to be the best yet. bet the upper deck was full next journey
still least the cleaners should have had an easier time that day.....
It is in Witton, the number 11 bus. The buses had already gone through that water and reached an unflooded stretch of road only to find that it was even worse in front. Several buses were all lined upand we were cut off. The bus I filmed on had decided to turn around and take a chance getting back the way he came. In the space of about half an hour the water had risen about a foot which is why it came into the bus on the return trip. Was great fun though, and my feet remained dry.
this wouldn't happen to be the day that kings heath had that small tornado would it?
I was up at woodgate valley that day and we got flooded bad as there was a small river beside the footpath leading to the business park and within minutes of leaving due to water coming in through the roof from the torrential rain, the footpath was nowhere to be seen and children swimming in the water at barnes hill by the roundabout, little did they know they were swimming in sewage EW!! gr8 vid mate :)
nearly all large rear engine buses have there engine air intakes at the rear of the buses and they are mounted high up to stop them getting blocked with stuff and most of the buses electrics are mounted high aswell or behing thedrivers head.
Mind boggles over how quickly the water rose.. I was out the same day in Sutton and I thought I had it bad when the water rose up over the kerb. Hard to believe the water is coming up and over the wall, there's usually a good 10-12ft gap between where the water starts and the top of the wall.
That was so bloody funny, I can't believe the bus went right through that and the passenger putting his feet up a wee bit. LOL. Loved watching the bus coming up out of the water and seeing the water in the bus sloshing about. lol. Wonderful video. Don't try this at home folks!

I remember this, You were on the Bristol Road ( I believe ) and the water was from that small hurricane, Weoley Castle got flooded similarly too.

When you look to the left, you'll see the local river. You can also see it on the right, front and back of the bus.
