Hey, I didn't realize that Dan of Seals and Crofts is the same as the "England Dan" who joined with John Ford Coley. Makes total sense, though! I listened to S&C when I was in high school and haven't listened to them in decades. What a treat - thanks for sharing!
there is only one song from this concert I enjoyed more than this and it was "the boy down the road". I think it was their 3rd song in the concert but I heard it and that was it for me. This was the only other song I heard that night in Austin, TX.
This was one of my favorites from this album. My mom used to play it all the time. All us kids would dance around in the livingroom to this. This music always reminds me of being a kid in the 70's. Thanks for sharing.
I have loved this song since I was a kid. This is just good music. I am actually more of techno and modern jazz guy but this is wonderfull music regardless of time period or genre.
Remember being able to work the old cabinet stereo and playing all my mother's albums and this one being one of my favorites! I will always miss those dreamy afternoons.
Brings back a flood of memories, all good. My grand daughter now 7 refures to this as" the most beautiful song ever pap paw". Thanks for posting it Tim.
It was this past Saturday, and I was up in the villiage of Lake George in the shops. I heard this song playing, and I thought it was some modern local band. I couldn't beleive how entranced i was by the melodies, and had to find out if he was selling the CD. I laughed when I learned it was Seals and Crofts!!
@DaveWollenberg One of my favorites by Seals and Crofts.I was a sophomore in high school when this came out.....amazing how listening to music can melt away the years and you are back to a simpler time,,,,,,,,
I remember playing this 45 on my "mickey mouse" record player when I was about 11 in the mid 70's . It kinda of hauntingly beautiful now that I realize those were beautiful memories of carefree days when music was still intelligently written...
AUSTIN,TX, SUMMER-1983,,,,Listening to this song, riding in Mark' blue van. He liked the song. I liked the other part, where the melody changes. Oh, and Mark, Dude, I was nieve. You used me. Sorry about how it all ended. I didn't know. Poetic justice I guess. Never,,Ever,, meant to hurt you.
I remember listening to this with my dad when I was little. He got a tattoo with my name and a hummingbird because I listened to it all the time. Today I said why don't you just get it removed its not like any of us remember that song. And he said I'll find it in 2 seconds. He did. This song reminds me of so much<3
This song comes as close to perfcetion as you can possibly get. The lyrics, the music and voices all blend together so beautifully. What a masterpiece. Peace.
Seems like there was a mellow singer/ songwriter genre that helped heal a socially & spiritually ravaged US - Seals & Crofts, James Taylor, Carol King, Jim Croce,Neil Young....
I work by a large window over looking a garden with many, many Birds of Paradise plants which hummingbirds love. Today while I was watching them suck the nectar out of these plants I started to hum this song. Had to hear tonight after today's events.
always loved this song, brings me back to a time and place...good times in the 70's =))

I love the message in this song...and I love Hummingbirds...even
held one in my hand once! It was trapped on my screened in porch
and I was afraid it would hurt itself so I cupped it in my hand...it went
still...I thought I had killed it...so I said a little prayer as I stepped out
side praying it would OK. I slowly opened my hands and it was still...
then in an instant it burst to life and flew away! I was one HAPPY
CAMPER!!! Thank you for this great song and the great memory!
