I always hated the mentality of Christians that you have to be a SHEEP. I am NOT A SHEEP, and find anyone calling me one to be derogatory! Sheep have no free thought and depend completely on someone else. Sheep are ignorant and blissfully unaware of the world around them. I don't hate on Christians, I hate on sheep mentality and constantly being told that you are a piece of shit and have no free thought, so much for being sentient.

btw. I recently gave up christianity but seeing you reminds me a lot of the Christian I used to be. I`d be interested to here what you have to say about some of the things that lead me to give up the faith. Not that I`m trying to get you to give it up or anything. I think it`s cool what you`re doing, and I don`t intend to come back to xianity either, but just think it would interesting to hear your thoughts.

@yk91o1 - The crazy-guy theory is pretty unlikely, especially considering the Bible is composed of 66 books written by 40 different authors (thus all 40 would have to be "crazy" and still agree with each other). Many of the accounts recorded in the Bible can be historically/archeologically verified tho, not to mention there's some pretty powerful anthropological evidence supporting the resurrection of Christ, and therefore His divinity, etc.

@BondSlaveSoldier Sorry, dear ... but "EBM, Darkwave" is not - strictly speaking - Gothic music, since "Gothic ROCK" (emphasis on Rock) is the genre's full name and "EBM, Darkwave" is not Rock. EBM and Darkwave are relatively new additions to the genre (with Industrial being a genre of its own). All the original Goth bands conform to the requirements of Rock.

I dont know why but I love doing independant study into all the misconstrued subcultures and Im starting to run out of things to study. I never judge anyone cause in the end its their life and if something makes them happy than I <3 them for their happiness. Haha yeah, I'm pretty much all about Darkwave, Ethereal, Gothic Trip-hop, and Goth Rock for the most part. Oh, and a good dose of Industrial/EBM too. Of course that's not the limits of my musical tastes, nor do I necessarily believe that musical taste should define someone's identity.

But yeah, Switchblade Symphony, Cindergarden, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Cocteau Twins, The Awakening, VNV Nation, Wumpscut... <3

I actually don't see too many Goths around my area, except at the clubs, yeah. I'm from Anaheim, which I've found tends to have a large Punk population, but there a good number of Goths in Fullerton, one of the next city's over.

Its a pleasure to see another person who can enjoy the alternative scene and not bash Christianity. I was raised Mormon, but I fell away due to a lack of faith. Ive studied every religion that I can, so I'm quite well spoken on the topic. Im now a follower of the church set down by Anton Szandor Lavey, but can still appreciate someones devotion to their religion. I'm not Christian myself, But I know a good thing. And I can't see anything but good coming from emulating Jesus. I don't care if it's real or not, it's still good.

And I know plenty of people in the subculture who have turned away from that goodness simply because they have been met with closed doors and shut eyes on the part of their churches.

I'm very glad you see Christianity and Jesus Himself as a "good thing", there are many who would beg to differ with you! A lot of skeptics like to point to things like the Crusades and claim "guilty by association", which is totally wrong.

Yeah, it's really unfortunate about churches turning some people away, so to speak. My church has been pretty accepting of me since day 1, so there is definately hope out there. : )

The Chamber is pretty cool, though I've been going to Xile for the most part nowadays. I like the DJ at the Chamber better, but Xile's crowd seems a lot more friendly.

I haven't been clubbing in at least a month though... I miss it! D :

Unless you're some scene-kid who thinks you have to be an Atheist/Wiccan/Satanist or be into drugs, alcohol or fetish to be "Gothic" or go to "Goth clubs", I don't see any contradiction between the two. My church has accepted me for who I am since day one, regardless of how I look.

Also, there are many Goths who practice Wicca, and that is a religion. And if Goth's "didn't like having fun," why would they even go to clubs to dance and socialize?

Religious affiliation has nothing to do with being Goth, and just because I've come to a logical conclusion for Christianity doesn't make me a poser.

But sitting down is often a good idea if you're a girl in a club... I don't know about American guys, but Aussie guys are very "grabby".
