@trendymeli they probably fight because you did not introduce them the right way! seperate your hamsters right away. clean out the hamster cage with a mild soap to wash away all hamster scents. fill the cage back with bedding and all the other stuff like food water ect. then put the male hamster in the cage FIRST , let it get used to its territory. then put the female hamster in last afterr a few minutes. they usally wont fight after that. if you need more help breeding look it up.

My hamster mum gave birth to 2 babies and 1 of them died last year and 2 days later she gave birth to 14 babies and ate all of them I saw it with my own eyes but a few survive but she refused to give them milk so they died then the mum ran away from home and 4 days ago the 1 that survived died a peaceful death while sleeping and now I have the other daughter and the father left that's all a family and it's going to end their surnames are chow same as mine

it's ok to put together because male dwarf hamsters dont eat the babies, they help the female to take care of the babies. the thing that might afraid mix the male with the female after birth is that the he might want to mate again with her soon after that. this might cause tension to the female. i would advise to separate them after birth occurs

@mashimashi2546 Sounds like she's a vets assistant. Momma's eat their babies at the drop of a pin. If you bother her to much she eats them, if she has to many she eats some, If the dad shares a cage she will eat them, if one is sick she will eat it. And sometimes she just eats them for no reason.
