well building a GK like that only for homework is ok I guess but I personally take my time in building one, for those of you who watched this video, this is in no way the proper method to build a GK, proper method should be prep, pinning, priming and masking, if you want a good quality paint job, you need to dedicate yourself to creating something really awesome.
I have only once painted resin before primmer painting it. The painted soaked into the resin unevenly.
Since your interested in art and talented I would like to pass on a method I use for painting black. Black is the absence of color so it can not be shaded. Try mixing a touch of light brown or dark blue to black. Brown softens it blue darkens it. Now you can shade it. This works very well on figures anime and military. It makes black uniforms look more realistic.
