Put a larger pulley on the alternator. It will slow the alternator down a tad bit but it will still be in a good voltage/amp range. and won't drag the jacobsen so hard.
I looked it all over and can't find any identifying marks or words. I ASSUME its a Jacobsen because of the orange paint. It has an ignition similiar to a Tecumseh.
can you take more pictures of the truck? is it a c60? mine under the hood looks very similar.

Dunno Zoni3. I can say the 10SI is rated for 33 amps @14.7volts The Jacobsen isn't going to be over 3hp at 3600rpm.
A note about these 10SIs, they will stall an engine rated at 10hp if you put a dead enough battery on them.

maybe a cutoff switch in the positive line close to the motor would be better than walking back in forth. Just an idea
