Nah, not impossible. Just take the cylinder and the cylinder head, and water cool those. It may mean you have to custom fab them yourself, though. Some can be bought after market too. Not really worth it unless you need to stick an air cooled motor somewhere it wasn't meant to be, or you want to make a custom one-off motor and be original.
im going to build a custom buggy with a road bike engine. i was gonna use a honda 550 four or whatever ii could find. the only problem is do you think it would get enough cooling air mounted behined the seat?
honestly, i tried to look for the longest time to find a wiring diagram with no luck, if anything start swapping good parts on it like the coil etc, we had the hardest time trying to figure out how to get it to rev up, it would start and nothing, it ,must have been like a safety switch somewhere in what little amount of harness we had and now it runs like a raped ape
sweet I got my oddessy runnin today. I bought a new piston and got the cylinder honed and it still would run. my buddy made a gasket set for me out of household crap and it ran. Come to figure the gasket set that came with the new piston was a bad set. So I have to buy another one! The thing rips tho. I know it is only a 250...is there a way to make it rip even more without goin to dep into the pockets?
i know they make a diffrent head which would help it run cooler so it doesnt blow up from heat, and i would think a pipe would help it out. Ours was all stock and we decided to get this bad boy. They also make diffrent clutches that would help it pull more on the bottom end but thats all i can really think of for it
clutch bizzare

Wow!! No airfilters bet that's great on the piston.

no its clean air there
BUT IT AIR COOLED and sitting there being reved by some dumbass tool THAT "FINALLY" got it running
no wonder

Obviously you don't there champ, seeing as you think it would be worth converting an A/C engine to L/C
lcurtizz 2 years ago
Dude you have no clue!!
Let me know when you get that L/C conversion kit ready!! Bet that will make you some serious cash.
Run out to your nearest machine shop and tell them what your wanting to convert. They are going to clown you so bad!!

Yea, you're too lazy to type a few extra keys? Shut the fuck up. You know fuck all about engineering/mechanics, so don't act like it.

how the hell do you do that?!?! please tell me

do what?

convert a air cooled engine to liquid cooled

Learn to spell you fucking moron, you have no idea about anything mechanical.

Yea?
And its not worth any minute of the time to do it, ass fuck.

piston y algunas cosas?

is that an old Arctic Cat 440 F/A? I thought about putting a 250 F/A twin in my Fl250 since it made more power.
Turbojeep23 3 years ago
I wanna put a polaris TX440 F/A engine in the spare chassis I have, that would make a serious wheelie machine

Not a good engine , but a electric fan would help it from over heating .
Ratridez 3 years ago
wont run long at high rpm and no pipe, good way to ruin the top end.

its gona over heat

thanks much. i appreciate you trying to help. its a BA motor and i guess i just keep messing with it. Thanks again

what size is that? reply in an e-mail. I have an 84 250 and I want it a lil faster lol

it's a 440cc Artic Cat snowmobile motor, hits good just need to tune the clutch soon to get it to really hit
