Would you suggest having a Charge/Cleave macro alongside a Charge/HS macro for aoe pulls? also what glyphs do you use. also i see you are using 2 buttons for charge and intercept. you might want to try this:

this way it will use whatever is up prioritising charge. you can put /cast other stuff under also :)

i think they should make this armor bonus permanent for dwarfs cuz 2% mitigation (with high gear)for 8 sec (thats what? 2 or 3 boss hits) on 2 min cd is not that fantastic atm, I play elf warrior and we get perma 2% dodge stright of the box and taurens get perma hp bonus. i think its unfair to poor dwarfs to have to push this cd to benefit from it.

I have to thank you Rurikhan for giving me confidence to pick up and try tanking finally on my level 80 Warrior. Today was my first day of tanking and so far I've gotten a lot of encouragement from my random dungeon finder groups to continue tanking and keep pushing my skills even further. Also just a side note on your debuff tracker of Sunder Armor stacks. It seems Power Auras is capable of tracking such things as well after I took a peek into the setting and I am using it myself.

during matenence i decided to look up this kinda thing to polish my tanking up, and i realzed i tank just like you do lol, with the exception that i cleave more that HS when im dumping Rage >.<

but i was wondering what glyphs you have, i noticed your shield wall, and i saw you commanding shout was 4 mins so i figured you had that one too. but i figured id slap on the cleave glyph to deal more damage and hit an extra target when i dump rage. is that a good idea?

Hey, got bored and googled a how to video. Have a prot warrior at 64 and man we tank identically :P my spec is a little different and I took imp blood rage, but yeah was kind of neat to see i'm doing stuff the way other good tanks might. One question though, I typically use shield slam and revenge on aoe mobs, cleave when I have lots of rage, I noticed you didn't mention shield slam, is it not optimal with the blocking glyph? @ElectronicFreakyFrog Depends on how you want to level, but the fastest leveling will probably be through Arms. Regarding Macros you'll probably notice when you start having too many skills to use you'll want to have macros :) .

@ElectronicFreakyFrog at 19 you just go this way: (Batle stance/charge thundercap, def stance tab sunder tab asunder tab sunder, thunder cap when its on ,tab sunder if you fot too much rage i.e beyond 50 go cleave ) if you have 30 sec shied block use it with a nice shield spike cos it generates a lot of rage and mitigates tonnes of dam.. when i lose it i go challanging shout and shield block with a thundercap and alls in control :P

@rurikhan I started tanking heroics on my paladin without the 535 defense - and then later on I gemmed some of my gear with the defense gem to then later find out that 25 defense on a gem was equal to something like 5 total in stats.

So basicly I wasted my money and my gear is kind of mucked up, and I really don't know where to go next.

I am a new WoW Player and i've picked off my Warrior as the first class. In contrary to what most people do I've decided to level as protection. What is your take on investing 3 points in Armoured to the Teeth over 5 points in Cruelty then the rest in protection. I level in instances mostly.

I am currently level 38 going on 39.

@KaralynAD I'd reccomend you to reset your talent points, and go ALL protection until you get shockwave etc.

This really will make a huge difference when your soloing aswell as instance grinding, and is, under 75-ish, WAY better than AttT and Cruelty.

Oh yeah, awesome video! And useful (for example tip with charge + heroic), but Im a little more interested in macros. What macros are you using? And, are you tab switching or you got some macro? I was playing paladin, but paladin requires no skill at all, I switched to warrior, and its really challenging! I like it, but sometimes its to much :) for example in HoR. Anyway, this is very good video.

i really enjoyed this dude! I am really wanting to make a tank warr but was discouraged by all the moaning on the wow forum of how nerfed the warriors are and just how paladin's seem to dominate in every aspect compared to warriors and I really didn't want to believe it and you've certainly proved that prot warrior is THE TANK!! informative, entertaining I got a few laughs out of it hehe :3 definitely making a tank war. Paladins are really good atm, Ardent Defender is the ultimate tanking talent, BUT Warriors are still pretty viable, so I'm sticking to my warrior. Plus paladins have most the tanking done for them with their 'auto-talents', warriors take a lot more skill.

You definitely should mod your UI, the default one is good for starting, but it's too limited once you start progressing into the game. Just don't overdo it either !

u could check out OmniCC + inline aura for dots and your own buffs/cds. it'll put the time on the skill button. also tracks other ppls dots that r ur class if u set it up that way.
