@StraightPunkEdge93 i dont think ill vote for him because i don't think removing all government regulations and taxes is the way to go about fixing up the budget. cutting spending and increasing taxes will help us out a lot if we do them together the right way. but i really really wish some one would listen to his foreign policies at least. I agree with him that there is no reason to fight these wars. But i don't agree that people shouldn't be able to get help from the government.
The states could always put in their own agencies and taxes if they felt they needed to be there for their residents. That would give more flexibility and more experiments to see what worked or didn't instead of imposing a monolithic agenda nationwide.
And it would be harder for lobbyists to target 50 cities instead of just one. Power is a dangerous thing, about the worst you can do is concentrate it in one place.
Ron Paul used 19th century philosopher John Stuart Mill's harm principle; which states that if a forward thinking adult wishes to do an action which does not cause harm to anyone but themself, then he/she should be allowed to do so. Indeed over one's mind and over one's body, the individual is sovereign.
I don't know if I fully agree with Dr. Paul on the complete repeal of all laws on drugs, but I can live with it especially in the context of entire political platform. He really is so consistent earning respect from a lot of people.
