Racism impacted his life in that his own natural desire for relationship was thwarted. He as a dark man attracted in his pure way to a white woman. His white peers forbid any such a union. This together with his minders agenda of a World Teacher prevented him from asserting his true autonomy and independence at this time. Later he would assert his independence. By then his transformation to a solitary life was all but completed. His self discipline and purity of thought endured.

According to K, a seriously religious mind is the one which completely gives up (psychologically) the past and so is new all the time. For him religion was not about a particular God, but about people who follow, Love,Beauty, Nature, Compassion and Service. All those of his kind who carried the mantle of guiding the misguided were the ones who created the Serious Religious Tradition.
