R u saying Seoul is ugly? hm.. people have varying taste. case in point -- when my brother went on a trip to europe, he said he HATED Paris. it was dirty, smelly, overrated etc. perplexed, i went the following year to confirm his claims. Paris.. of all places how can that be right? sure enough i didnt like it. loved berlin, loved madrid, venice and more. it's all a matter of taste. dont say "it" takes time and patience as if that may be the case for everyone. I think Seoul is gorgeous ;) cheers

Seoul is not ugly. The city just doesn't have a unique color to attract trouists. People think paris as romantic or new york as city of capitalism. But when you say Seoul people have no idea what to expect. Especially with places like Kang Nam (s. of Han river) which is just an america wanna-be place, the city hardly has things to offer to tourists. Tokyo is another city with no identity but at least people think it as world's 2nd richest country's cosmopolitan. Seoul needs its own identity.

한국 사람이면서 서울 나쁘다고 하는건 쫌 그러네요 ㅡㅡ 제가 압구정동 구현대아파트 사는데요 압구정동에 뭐 필요한건 다 있고 놀기도 좋은데요?? ㅋㅋ 그런데 한가지 인정해야 할 사실은 서울 한강 주위를 너무 망쳐놨다는점 ... 솔직히 말해서 서울 , 중국이나 일본에 비해 관광객수 현저히 뒤쳐지는거 사실입니다. 그리고 건물에 달려있는 간판들도 정리해야하구.. 외국인이 서울 처음 봤을때는 '좋다'라는 생각보다는 '복잡하고 더럽다'라는 생각이 먼저 들듯 하네요. 뭐 우리야 한국 사람이고 이런 생활에 익숙해져 서울이 좋다고 말할수 있는 것입니다. 그리고 서울하면 많은 사람들이 착각하는게 강남의 일부 부유한 지역만을 생각하시는데 서울에 가난한 사람들도 많고 별로 좋지 못한 동네들도 많이 있습니다. 님들이 만약 맨하탄에 가보면 마냥 좋다고만 하겠습니까? 길도 잘 모르겠고 차 막히고 희안한 사람들이 길바닥에 널려 있는데 어떻게 좋다고만 할수 있겠습니까? 외국 사람들도 마찬가지입니다.
