im running a vemon 5000mah 8.4 volt batery im just wondring why my motor gets hot and my battery gets so hot it melted the plastic On the baTTERYS

Well, The venoms are overpriced garbage! I bought a 3300mah 7.2 for my xl-5. The truck was slower than before and had like 65% less torque than with my "Dynomax" 3000mah. (The performance on the titan 12t is pretty good with the right battery) What gearing are you running?

i got xl-5 with 6900kv mamba max system my battery runs so hot that it melted the cover i was piss my motor get hot im thinking on lowering the stock gears so it wont be so hot but my stampede is very fast

Wowz. lol Did you solder the cells or did you get an assembled pack? I'm getting an SPC Ener-G 7 cell matched pack, or a 7 cell EP4600matched pack. Sweet accel and speed by the way! I'm geared 19/87.

reminds me once i was running a setup in my losi xxcr and i was doing some speed passes like this and for some reason i had absolutely no brakes.

I was like doing 50mph an coming to a bend in the road and went to brake and i was thinking thats funny im sure i am meant to have brakes ended up driving round the block trying to slow down

That was down a faulty speed controller loosing its endpoint settings.

Yeah, I was "Wow-ed" myself.... The gearing is pretty high, but after full out 8min run, the motor was at 150F, and ESC at 110F... Temp outside was ~ 65F... :)
