I know. The species of americn cheetah-like cats is called miracinonyx trumani. They died out some 10 000 years ago. But recent genetic comparisons have shown they probably werent wery closle related to modern cheetahs. More likley, they were a sister species of todays cougar. The reason they looked like cheetahs is convergent evolution
