When are people going to realize that all faiths does have a common ground - Jesus was greatly misunderstood of what he came here to show humanity of the truth of who they truely are and of their spiritual purpose.
Those of us who are awakened since childhood & those that are becoming aware has a sense of the truth - going back to the world's religions put together are a greate sense of the truth but not the complete truth.
You are more than the physical body & mind - you are a spiritual being
This freak show is unreal. I have seen this stupid F--K to many times on my TV yep like we have nothing to do but sit and think about thinking!. The only folk that are into this dude are the those that can't think for themselves, they need someone to think for them. As for Oprah, each time I replace a black trash can liner and look into that big dark hole I "THINK" of oprah!
..gosh I thought I knew what this guy was teaching, then I got a few referrals and "awakened" from my illusions. First. The guy was named Ulrich Yorgenberg? And egoically changed his name. Then he lied about the Bible verse and claimed he is THE GREAT I AM? This I found out on the YouTube video: Eckhart Tolle - The Diabolical Plot Behind The Teachings. Then I was told there is a page by page discussion of all the contradictions in the writings of the book: "A New Earth". at - Stushie.wordpress -
Religion itself can be corrupted by cultures. That includes Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, etc. Today, people are more learned than they have ever been in the history of mankind. I don't think it should be forbidden to apply acquired knowledge in the realm of life, even if it leads you to interpreting scripture differently or finding truths in life itself.
Go to stushie.wordpress and scroll down till you see "The New Earth Chapter 1" and there is a condensed discussion of what is being taught and by who. Go to "Kjos Ministries" and see their daily updates on Oprah and Eckhart.
i am happy to be living in the time when we can learn to accept who we are to god and wheo he is to us through other believers i am a christian and jesus lives through me god has been asked by me many a prayer to use me , well i too have suffered with bipolar and many diseases too many to count i am her today ,i was in a psychosis 3 weks ago i fasted on easter and dehydrated so bad i lost my mind again today im home with a stack of bills coming in and thanks to this am getting better
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
Well, this is at least a quote that makes sense, But obviously you really don't understand the true meaning behind words, Well, it's OK, because you're just quoting Einstein, what doesn't necessarily make you as witty as him.
What about Napoleon next... "Imagination rules the world!" would round up the picture ;).
May the spirit be with you and may it be a little less holy.
Part 2 Watering down beliefs systems will not make them say the same thing. You are just creating your own 'watered -down' religion that insults the beliefs of all the other religions. Jesus came to establish faith in Himself not a religion. Your beef is more with a wrong perception of who Jesus is than who He really is. Jesus provided the only historical accredited proof of a life after this one. No one else has given such a convincing proof in history for those who wish to look.
Part 1 This group is so deceived. They don't know what they are talking about. It's like they are even afraid to disagree.
They don't all point to the same 'god'.
The Hindu rejects Christianity. The Seiks rejected Hinduism. Islam believes itself to be the only true religion. Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. Truth is be definition exclusive. If A is true, 'not A' is not true. They are both not true at the same time.
So she turns to a mans book for spirituality? That is odd. These people are confused. If you are not Christian than read the book and be happy with it and your life. If you are Christian you should stay away,Chrisitans should not embrace someone that denounces God and JesusChrist such as Opera/Eckhart. A Chrisitan should embrace Gods word. People in their nature want to worship God but their carnal man still wants to embrace sin and the world. That is why they like to worship Opera and Eckhart
i can't stand how Eckhart compares himself to jesus christ, he talks how he was about to kill himself then a voice told him to sleep and he was saved by the voice, and he claims that experience connected him with god the same way jesus was crucified.
As a Catholic, I would be more than happy for the touchy feely new agey members to find somewhere else to go (as I am sure the Episcopalians and Presbyterians would be). And let me tell you, the Church of Oprah is perfect for these people. I do not see it as a threat at all, I mean it gives them a place where they feel at home, and that's perfect.
I THINK AS LONG AS IT ONLY TEACHES "GOOD."...THAN what is the PROBLEM?...I WAS RAISED SPIRITUAL...AND HAVE ALWAYS FELT THAT "RELIGION IS FOR WEAK PEOPLE THAT FEEL STRONG IN NUMBERS."-JESSE VENTURA
You know what is interesting? Since I've been reading this book I've decided to go buy a Bible and read it again (I went to a Bible college for a year and left it because it was too repressive). So Tolle's book is bringing me back to the Bible, not taking me away from it. :-
I've always had a hard time with religion and spirituality. I was raised in the United Church and went to Sunday School, was in the church choir and a girl's church group. I have enjoyed many moments in such an environment. But my rebellious self always comes out when I'm forced to go to church or I have to observe this ritual or that or this is what the Bible says so that's that. I do have a hard time being told what to do and what to think.
However, I have never stopped believing in God. Just the path to him. But I find as I live my mid-30s my path has changed. And it started 6 years ago when I started teaching in the Catholic school system here in Canada. I find that my spirituality has been improved and I'm not overwhelmed by ritual. I think that is also due to the fact that I have limited exposure to those rituals. I do not teach a regular classroom so I don't teach religion to my students. And I'm still not Catholic.
I enjoy going to monthly school Masses. I enjoy speaking to the nuns and priests. I also enjoy playing devil's advocate and make people think and question. And of course what is interesting that when faced with something that goes against many of these religious beliefs, I have a hard time accepting those other ideas. I have read and enjoyed the Secret. I even have a book by Esther & Jerry Hicks. Although the thought of Abraham seems blasphemous to me. Go figure huh!
I also have a hard time with the idea of praying to Mary or to a saint given the 10 commandments. but I do tell you, St. Anthony & I are very good friends! And I also finally learned Hail Mary in my first year in the board but in French (the subject I teach!)
But in spite of these ups and downs, I'm finally feeling like I'm going the right direction and yes ritual is important but it's actually the community that is helping me. It's not about church. It's about people & connecting.
These poor people. Deceived.

There are hundreds of divisions in Christianity alone, so why would so many feel threatened by another pathway to God?

tolle's path does no lead to the cross.

I hope not. I don't want to end up on a cross.

This was such a healthy discussion. It shows how much our minds have broaden, especially due to contrast of our time-space reality.

clarion,
satan used scripture as well. he used it against Jesus. tolle's teachings lead people away from Christ.
the spirit that influences your life will cloud you from seeing the truth.
