  • ahh i always keep forgetting that jimmy ienner / wally bryson produced/directed this album. but WITHOUT shelley yakus (engineer/Record Plant NYC). or don gehman's crew (miami/Criteria, where john cougar/gehman cut his breakout hits 1982). too much thud on that snare drum man, you gotta call Shelley! (the Raspberries recordings are marvels of controlled-leakage, drum-sound "ambience" (gating?), every trick they claimed had to be used to make a "dead" sounding room sound lively.

  • yea with a little tightening (of the arrangement and dynamics, ie the drumming in particular) and a classic NY Record Plant recording, this could equal any/all of the Raspberries classic Top 40 hits (they had four, y'know). but yeah as a song it is 1,000 stars, beyond classic/pefect for its genre, 12 on a 10 scale. REALLY good vocal too. underplayed, as opposed to oversung (unlike the Raspberries who were all about oversinging the lead vocal just to uh, i dunno, do a Steve Marriott thing)

  • Underrated AOR courtesy of Southern California & the shores of Lake Erie.

  • Great Tune!
