@golevins I got wobbles at the bottom of this hill when I stood up. No death wobbles, though. Haven't had a death wobble in 20 years (you outgrow them).
a few days ago my friend was letting us skitch his car an we were going about 41 at top speed, i know 36 may sound small to alot of people, but its scary/fun as shit
@leewardstyle There's a couple nice roads in some of the subdivisions, we got one that's pretty steep and then has a big turn and and another drop. That's about it though. It's good enough haha.
@leewardstyle I will say however that mounting a cam to your board is pretty cool... you got those slide gloves? you should get into that, that shit is cool.
@HOMExSKILLET The camera is turned the same degrees than the road, since the skateboard is flat. It seems from the camera's point of view that it's not downhill. But it is.
@punkiassjunki wobbles mainly come from soft bushings and lose truck, soft flex makes slides and fast cornering terrible. But when your experienced at high speed you can ride pretty fast with a flex board too, but its a lot harder.
I DH my flex 3 vanguard witch is alot softer than the dervish, i have a Comet FSM on the way but meanwhile i bomb with my vanguard,, just switch to double-barrel bushings.
I reached about 40 (60+kph) last session, had a car a couple of meters infront checking speed.
Not trying to insult you but going 36mph on a dervish is not exactly very smart due to the extreme flex of the dervish and you would usually get speed wobbles and fall
@TennisXCountry not really bro. Anyone with a solid tuck and enough time spent at higher speeds can manage a flexy board at 30-45. Plus he could've tightened his trucks for the run for safety and worn a helmet and pads. Furthermore! I think flexy boards are nicer at high speeds cuz the flex still reduces bumps and such. I dunno that's just my three cents...and yah it's three cuz my cents always make more sense than other people's.
@dontmugurself i can almost gurantee you that not a single person will tell you that downhill longboarding with flexy boards is not very smart even with all the best gear, tightened trucks, etc. sure its do-able but it is not recommended andprobably not safe
@TennisXCountry I realize that I'm basically just saying if I had 1 skateboard for the rest of my life but it would never wear down on me...and it just so happened that it was a Loaded Dervish...and I was the only person left on the planet...I would definitely loot some gear and bomb the fuck out of many hills at about 40 with no worries because I know myself and my skill and honestly I'm not event he greatest longboard, and that's why I say anyone with a decent tuck and stable stance can do it.
@ramsay2113 regardless... I roll flex 2 TT, have a good tuck, and most bumps are absorbed for me, between the flex of my board, my thin pads and my wheel/truck setup, honestly the only way I see myself falling off between 35-45 is from speed wobbles, which I dont get cuz I dont suck. Tan tien is a bit more stable than a dervish but if someone just tossed me a flex 2 derv and said hit this massive hill I would be totally confident in the board's and my own ability to keep myself alive.
@ramsay2113 you just sounds overly sketched out about it, as if you've never tried it but you have a defiant opinion about it....not trying to insult you but 36 really isnt that fast on a flex board.
@TennisXCountry not trying to insult you but I own a loaded dervish flex 1 long board and going 36 mph is not very smart but you would have to be a huge pussy to say it. notice also that you tell this young man that he would usually get wobbles, come on. Just because you lack a certain skill does not mean the rest of the youtube community lacks those skills. ok mom
@TennisXCountry u could also so you would does not make a whole lot of sense mom. and yes helmets are for pussy's I won one but only wear it when im snowboarding and going to backs. never would I wear a full face or bb for this type of stuff come on mom
@TennisXCountry not true. you can honestly bomb on any board if youre good enough. My friend bombs on a Van Guard and we go 35 all the time and he has really loose trucks and a really flexible flex.
no problem.. I`ve done 50 mph on a dervish flex 2.. Smooth as silk as long as you keep your weight far enough over the front truck. The Dervish is a beatuiful flexy city cruiser, but also versatile enough to pull off stuff like that. Truly a great board.
@JordyL172 the point isn't how fast he's going. It's what he is doing it on. Longboarding at 35mph is very quick and the chance of getting speed wobble is always increased depending on how fast you go, especially on a dervish because although it can handle downhill speeds. It isn't built for them :)
@Jobryan205 naa serious il put up a pic of the reading on my account 1 day and the vid i hav of its hard to tell wheather er did or not but we did get it! hard to believe ino tho
@kamikazeestu it registers "peak" landspeed in mph/kph, just scroll to the landspeed function. It's not real-time, so if you look down and see "28mph" that's the fastest you hit, not the speed you are going when you looked. I typically reset to 0mph and then bomb a hill, only checking it at the end of the run.
@lechodemeista yes. standing up during the roll-out, I got visible wobbles but corrected them before it was too late. I put the slightest amount of weight on the back heel when I get wobbles.

@SSXSuperMan I've gotten tickets for running stop signs and speeding. go to court EARLY, like 2 hours early, plead "Not Guilty." Two things will happen: you'll be dismissed by the pre-trial attorney (no charge) -or- you'll be asked to come back during your scheduled court-time. Come back, ride the "Not Guilty" plea until the cop shows. He won't show. They never show. Paying the fine is an admission of guilt.
@leewardstyle well...i havent been arrested. just given multiple warnings. then they lecture me on how its so unsafe. this kid in my hometown even died whiled skitching a car, so everyone around gets very uneasy when it comes to longboarding. i get out of these fines and going to court n stuff cuz i dont do stupid crap like that. even if i dont get in trouble i get crap from the nieghbors
sick man, buuut I have a flex 2 dervish and I've gone 39 mph soooooo you should probably be able to go faster if yours is flex 1, aand if its flex 2 you should still be able to go a little faster haha
