Great montage. Somehow, I like to think Harold survived; He now sits in the House Of Lords, and has narrowly escaped being caught out for fiddling expenses...Untouchable...
Harold finds himself at gunpoint from the front seat passenger - IRA gunman played by a then-unknown Pierce Brosnan. Don't think he many lines to remember in this one.
brilliantly done,i appreciate the time you spent putting this together. My son spends hours doin the same, great to know there are people out there with talent, keep it up pal or i will be round ure ouse wiv razors ha ha
Other channels have done this, thought it could do with a revival. There's plenty of great quotes of dialogue to blend in with the footage. And of course some 'x rated' scenes I did not use.
Thanks for your comment ...seem to recognise your current thumbnail pic from somewhere.
Thanks for posting this SC. This has always been one of my fac soundtracks. It's kinda eccentric in the same way as Roy Budd's 'Get Carter' theme is also. To my knowledge, Francis Monkman has never repeated such heights with a filmsocre, though he was very instrumental in driving Sky (for those old enough to remember them,, along with John Williams aka, Deer Hunter 'Cavatina' theme) to the success' they enjoyed.
SC, you seem to have got your hands on my soundtrack collection, every film I have you seem to have done here lol. Another brilliant job done. But you should have included the music at the end of the film. Great acting by Bob and the score is amazing.
great british film and superb music. interesting to see how so many locations in the film have changed drastically. if only bob hoskins had been parker in thunderbirds update
Gentlemen, its a small pint but I think you belittle Ron Cook who actually played Parker in the awful remake version of T-Birds. His was the only credible performance in an otherwise complete flop. There's a great soundbite I had of him on my PC going 'Rivetting M'lady'. Look out for Ron, he often pops up in Brit dramas as a character.
His first film role, Brosnan appears as an IRA gunman who kills Harold's long time friend, Colin in the swimming baths and also sits in the front seat of the car which Harold gets into.
Get Carter comes in as a close second in my book. Hard to beat Bob Hopkins tour de force acting in this one, great direction by John Mac Kenzie and Monkman's score is absolutely great. Sadly this is going to be remade by Hollywood idiots.
I doubt if the USA/Hollywood will achieve the sizzling atmosphere and grim realism of the LGF.
Incidently, the film was spoofed in one year's edition of Comic Relief. Titled "The Wrong Good Friday," it featured Bob Hoskins asking for a payment from Jimmy Nail.

@filmmusicstudio He only has one line: "Hi." - at about the 20-minute mark in the film, when he murders Colin (Harold's friend-cum-courier).

Yes I agree, he would have made a great 'rough diamond' for the character Parker.
