  • such a creepy song, sounds like the bad guy singing a song in a Disney movie..

  • @ShambleVideos I talked to Tom outside of the show at Cats Cradle and specifically inquired about his lyrics in this song. I can tell you that the last word of the first line is "taut." But goddammit if his thick ass accent didn't obscure the rest of it.

  • thats awesome!!!

  • always get weepy at 4:07!!!

  • Ooh sunken within the treacle tin.

Sickly and swelt in this blobbing love (?) I am held.

Oh a thespian in the throes of this thick, black, sticky role.

Preserved in the plot, a calamitous clot.

Ooh the miasma of this cheap melodrama. The soil from which I grow.

Tom: Pose in a mirror without tear or a tut. Giddy with the glutton and supple in his strut.

    Lyrics?

  • @ShambleVideos nice! been wondering what was tom singing in that part, half of the song it´s already donde but the rest is still missing...good work though.

  • all I want is MORE of that dizzying, cracked insane falsetto! Such a unique and fabulous voice-and their harmonies-yum!

  • Hayden's voice is more of a counter tenor!

  • @betwam yum?

  • Most creative band since Suede. Was quite a long drought for this kind of brilliance to surface again. ORIGINALITY defined!

  • haha Suede. possibly one of the most crud bands of all time

  • This is triple-whopper-cheese-bacon-dope! Fantastic to say the least! :'D

  • my band of 2008. seeing them again feb 24th, lots of new material allegedly.

  • More ideas and imagination in this band's ARRANGEMENTS (never mind lyrics) than almost ALL the new bands that surfaced in 2008. Brilliant, brilliant song. I'm convinced Wild Beasts are as exciting as The Smiths at the start of their career, but no-one agrees. Sniff. Well fuck them! ha! This band are going places. I urge you to check out the lyrics before posting any disparaging comments. They are brilliant also.

    Mon the Beasts!

  • I agree!xx

  • what is the singer saying at 1:36 -1:50

  • what is the singer saying at 1:36 -1:50

  • I agree. good, good stuff

  • I totally agree, and i have thought since i first heard Wild Beasts! Thought i was the only one noticing that : D

  • Hope these are good live going to see them with foals soon !

  • they r much better live!!!saw them last friday and they were amazing!!!!

  • whaaaaaaat, Wild Beasts are so much better than foals live, Foals are self indulgent shits

  • so y did u go

  • i have never head of this band but going to see them with foals in a few weeks times so thought i would check them out lol .could be worse lol but then again could be better

  • Great to see some new songs coming from the Beasts! =D

My favourite is still Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants though.

  • Sorry :( I dont like it

  • I really don't like it... sorry if I affend any of you. Don't comment on me badly!

  • Don't freak. You're allowed to not like it. With Wild Beasts, it's inevitable that someone will love or hate it. Relax.

  • After hearing "Assembly", "Sylvia", Limbo Panto and this, I'm convinced that Wild Beasts is one of the new bands that should be getting some more attention sometime.

  • very interesting... sounds kind of waltzy. i like it... but i dont know how much

  • The rythm is that of a waltz, indeed. Very good song, very good band.

  • It's not actually a waltz. This is a 6/8 time signature, sometimes called a "rock ballad" rhythm. It is _close_ to a waltz, which is 3/4.

Two know it's 6/8, not 3/4, listen to how the bar loops. The bass drum hits on the down beat (1), the snare hits on 4. In a Waltz, bass drum is on the down beat and snare is on 2 and 3.

    Cool song!

  • Wow you're quite an expert! Thank you, I didn't know that. And how do I count it? I mean, waltz is "one-two-three, one-two-three, one-two-three" and what about 6/8?

  • 6/8 is like 2/4 with a triplet feel.

You can count it one-two-three, one-two-three quite easily but most people just count it as a slow one-two.

  • Thank you

  • That was soulful.

  • Wow...

    I am lost for words.

  • amazing somthing different

  • zomfg thats actually interesting

  • I'll say that it's interesting. Really interesting...
