  • Thats well coooooool! Love it!

  • Slit the wings and insert a long rod of carbon fibre or two in each of the wings.

  • @vanepico Hey vanepico thanks for the tip. This video is about 3 weekend behind now. I have now added carbon rodes to each of the wings to remove the flex and also moved the cg up more. So the x-wing is ready to go. 2 problems though. First is the wind will not let up so I have no had a chance at all to test. Second last weekend the wind let up for about 30 minutes. I got in hurry and was trying to make another video and hand launched. Big mistake! That was while reason for the dolly.

  • @vanepico I sliced my right index finger like cheese. It skinned the top of my finger off to meat only. I think we found the skin by our feet. It was see through. he bottom part of my finger had a flapper on it. I got into a hurry and got careless. Oops. On bright side X-wing is ready to go. My finger is healing pretty darn fast and I can now bend it. And I now made a PVC Catapult and will post video on that here soon. So I should be good to go now.

  • Great stuff man impressive work. It almost looked like a bird flapping its wings at one point cool vids great channel.

  • @flyby8906 Yeah I think the birds were jealous of it haha. As of now I have those flapping wings ready to go. I have a larger carbon rod going down them and I think my next flight will be my final. I hope. I moved thee CG fixed the electrical issue. And got those wings much stiffer now. It is just this darn windy and rainy weather thats keeping me. Next break I get I will be in air and making another video. Hopefully soon

  • Wow! This is an excellent project!

But yeah, you really need to support those wings with some carbon rods.

Are you going to use clear plastic on the canards later on? If they are seethrough it would look even more like the movie :D

Just subscribed - can't wait to see the follow up!

  • @Bing80 Hey thank you for the sub! I agree I need more carbon rods in the wings. I just have one per wing so few more should do the trick. And as for the canard yes it will be transparent. It is just foam for now since I am just testing out what works and how it reacts.

I will do it like I did the wings on my Tie Interceptor if you seen the video. In the end on my final version I will do my best to make it look like the real thing. Hopefully I can get started on it here soon.

  • I dont think i like this new layout on you tube. I just went to reply and flagged your comment. Didnt mean to do that

  • @eagledancer2000 "Al-most therrrre......." haha

  • That was great, dude! I didn't expect to see you trying again so soon. Sorry about your electrical problem. Good luck next weekend!

  • @TraySoul Thanks! Yeah I had to get back out there and try as soon as my glue dried. I dont have any time during week so I ry to squeeze everything in on weekends. Yeah that electrical issue is a bummer but hope to have it worked out by this weekend so I can go back up. Will be posting as soon as I do!

  • and u might wanna ask Dave Powers from RC superpowers about your servo problem...he knows allot about it...

    Good luck

  • Righton man!..good job..it flys!! :D

you might wanna use the flat carbonrods they have to stiffen the wings...looked like a libbelle flying at some points heheh :)..but other than that it looks so COOL!! Great work!! .. keep it up man!

    Jacques

  • @jacquesone100 Hey Jacquesone! Your not kidding about those wings!! haha. They get to fluttering pretty crazy. Should see them in person. I dont think the wings did that in the movie haha.

I just have one carbon spar in wings now, looks like I need to add some more there!
