Brilliant... just back from India and this song brings back so much feeling, good and bad (life is so tough for much of the population - but many of them still manage to smile through their troubles, and to be friendly .... it's very annoying to hear so many pampered people in the west complain about recession and 'poverty')... It's a pity the corrupted 'Hare Krishna' movement hijacked this sublime prayer.... If you like this, be sure to check out Krishna Das....

It's a common misconception that it's a modern cult- just came to the West more recently. If anyone, it is the Impersonalists who do not worship Krsna exclusively in His original personal form who have "hijacked" this. @chopstikz85 you know i have a father who is a strict hindu brahmin and my mums christian. I dont follow religion but ever since i started saying the maha mantra me a non religious person , is having positive things happening to me.

If you go to the iscon or the hare krishna temples abroad, you will find most of the people are actualy white and they are not even hindus. they are only Krishna Bhakts ( devotees) .

You dont HAVE to be Hindu to be a krishna bhakt. This is not Islam!

This song makes so happy. I'm a Christian but I am so drawn to this song. There are things with Hare Krisna I do not agree with and since you can't pick and choose what you believe so I stand outside but Hare Krishna draws me in. In fact one time went to a Festival of Lights event and I was singing and meditating to this chant and I felt like I was at a ledge and it scared me so much I literally felt myself back up from the edge cause I didn't know I would go but it definitely left an impression

unusual name, from what I know she named her because the night she was born Nina Hagen (her mother) thought she saw a UFO and because she was into Hinduism thus Shiva.

No, this is one Bhaktin, sorry, i forgot the Name, from the Krishna Temple,.. at that Time in Koeln Gremberg (Taunusstr.). In the Background are Devotees from the Colonge Temple as well. I myself was traveling with Nina for one Week on her Revolution Ballroom Tour (around that Time) to cook her a vegetarian Prasadam Diet (Prasadam)
